Chevrolet Reveals Chevelle-Inspired Sketch For 2-Door Sports Car

The Chevrolet company has a long history with sports and muscles, especially with its iconic Camaro and Corvette models that have yet to hit an expiration date in their popularity. Although the automaker finds itself in a bit of a sales slump due to the events surrounding the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, the latest C8 Corvette, received great success. The carmaker will hopefully stay on this high with its next Z06, which is set to be revealed in a matter of months. A new idea that the company’s design team has been recently playing around with is the development of another two-door model, though this still remains just a conception.

There is supposed talk in all directions regarding the prospect and last Sunday (May 23), the American automaker revealed a sketched version of what could be.

General Motors (GM) Design revealed its image of what seems to be a modern Chevelle on Instagram. Brian Malczewski, who has projects for the GMC Hummer truck and SUV, was responsible for drafting this concept. However, surprisingly enough, this drawing has apparently been around 2014. One shouldn’t be too surprised by the complete lack of production or physical conception, as coupes have seen a decrease in popularity for automakers, and even more so for sedans.

The question is whether or not this Chevrolet sketch has some prominent design elements that we’ve seen on other production models? The answer to that is yes, with the best example being the front grille. It has a strong resemblance to that of the latest Blazer, which was released in 2019. The Chevrolet Chevelle, which seems to be the inspiration of the GM’s latest design, was produced from 1964 to 1978 and was one of the company’s best-selling models.

Around the time of the late 1960s, the Chevelle became a muscle car and had a choice of V8s. While the probability of the nameplate making a resurgence isn’t all that high, it’s not fair to write it off completely. Besides, GM is just not getting its feet wet onto what will be a long and perhaps neverending era of electric vehicles. We can only guess what future models and names will be launching in the years to come.

In the meantime, this two-door model lives as a concept sketch, and will hopefully grow to be so much more. It’s exciting to see how particular styling features, like the notable grile, may end up on a production model from a completely different segment.

2022 Chevy Bolt EUV And Bolt EV Are Arriving Ahead Of Schedule To Dealerships

It’s official! The new 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EUV crossover, along with the revamped 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV hatchback have entered production at General Motors Lake Orion Assembly plant, and are already ahead of schedule in making their way towards dealership lots.

This week, the automaker posted a photo of the upcoming Bolt in the midst of its last inspection on the assembly line, which prompted the caption, “The future is all-electric. The new 2022 Bolt EUV and redesigned Bolt EV have left the factory and are shipping to a Chevrolet dealership near you.”

This revelation comes as quite a surprise, since many automakers experienced delays on rollouts and arrivals due to the microchip shortage, and issues with supply chains. In spite of this, the arrival of the two EV models are coming a month earlier than GM initially said, towards the end of May.

The latest and greatest Bolt EUV and EV made their initial introduction back in February, with the automaker saying at the time that these electrics would start production this summer. The starting price for the hatchback is at $31,995, (plus destination fee). In concert, the EUV has a starting price at $33,995, (plus destination fee). By comparison, the 2021 model year for the Bolt EV, was priced from $37,890, (plus destination fee).

Both of these models get their power from a 288-cell lithium-ion battery pack with a rating of 65 kWh, which delivers power to a front-mounted electric motor that has a maximum power output of 200 horsepower with 266 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the Bolt EUV has an EPA rating of 259 miles from a full charge, while the family-friendly EUV has an estimated range of 247 miles.

The upcoming Bolt EV and EUV are the GM’s most inexpensive electric vehicles at this time and have been viewed as an integral part of its overall objective for each driver to eventually ride in an electric vehicle.

“We want to put everyone in an EV and the new Bolt EUV and redesigned Bolt EV are crucial to doing so,” GM President Mark Reuss commented during the time of the vehicles’ introduction. “Together, they enable mainstream customers to be part of our vision of zero crashes, zero emissions and zero congestion.”

Although it was recently reported that the Bolt EUV, in particular, wouldn’t break the 250-mile mark, as expected, it still offers more than enough driving range to work with. On top of this, it makes up for it with extra space in the rear seating area, as well as additional comfort features. It even has an available sunroof and GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driver-assist system.

Moreover, both the latest Bolt EV and EUV offer an updated seat design, as well as a slew of interface changes like a one-pedal driving mode. Buyers should also expect Android and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and a new Level 2 mobile charging cord.

The arrival of the 2022 Bolt EV and Bolt EUV is fast approaching, and when that time finally comes, be sure to make your purchase at Miami Lakes Automall. We sell a wide range of Chevrolet vehicles, including that of the 2021 Bolt EV.

What We Know So Far About The 2022 Chevy Blazer

In 2018, Chevrolet released its Blazer SUV, once again bringing to life its famous nameplate. It was considered quite unexpected, seeing as the name “Blazer” was previously associated with more adventurous vehicles, like the Trailblazer. Nevertheless, the automaker took the smart move by fitting in with the times, as the rise of family-friendly crossovers is undeniable.

For its upcoming model, the company is offering some minor changes here and there. Here’s everything that you need to know about the 2022 Chevrolet Blazer.

It’s Keeping Its Three Engine Options

Chevrolet’s main intent of launching its crossover line-up was to introduce a sense of comfort and easiness to the drivers and their passengers as much as possible, therefore, one shouldn’t expect a complete revamp of powertrain options each model and every model year.

In this case, there is hardly a change at all. The standard 2.5-liter 4-cylinder has 193 horsepower and lb-ft of torque, and will only be available with front-wheel-drive (FWD). The next engine is the optional 2.0-liter turbocharger, it produces an excellent 237 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque. It’s also quite fuel-efficient and will have an available all-wheel-drive (AWD) system.

The third and final option that has the most pep in its step is the 3.6-liter V6 engine, pushing out 308 horsepower with 270 lb-ft of torque. All three motors are joined with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

Maintains Its Lovable Crossover Body

Contrary to its venturesome roots, the crossover is made for the city streets. The early design of this Chevrolet vehicle is derived from the automaker’s iconic muscle car, the Camaro. The Blazer has a style that is incredibly modern and sleek, which is helped by features like the sharp lines, slender headlights, sloped roofline, and larger two-layered grille.

The 2022 model will keep the same unibody frame, as well as the wheelbase of 113 inches and the length of 192 inches. Then, the 64.3 cubic feet of cargo space should satisfy basic needs. There’s also a generous amount of space in both the front and back row. Interior elements like the trim pieces and circular air vents will follow-on the newest model.

Already Born With Plenty Of Features

Chevrolet has already packed on the safety and comfort features in its models. The 2022 Blazer will continue to sport standard nifties like an 8-inch touch screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto compatibility, AM/FM radio dual-zone climate control a six-speaker stereo, Bluetooth audio streaming, in-car wireless internet hardware, four USB ports, plus cruise control, keyless entry, 18” wheels, and all-season tires.

Optional features will also carry over, such as wireless smartphone charging rear park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane change alert with blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, a rear camera mirror, a surround-view parking camera system, forward collision alert, high-speed automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control.

Moreover, since it was recently announced that the upcoming Blazer will lose its entry-level L and 1LT, this may allow certain features that were previously exclusive to trims in a higher tier to become standard.

Today’s Automotive Trend May Change The Cost

For the past few years, automakers have been slowly making the transition to electric vehicles. With upcoming EVs like the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model X and Y, and Hyundai Kona Electric, it’s quite plausible that Chevy may want to follow suit with its 2022 Blazer.

Though there is no official announcement in this regard nor the starting price, it’s estimated that the cost will range from $29,000, (plus destination fee) to $45,000, (plus destination fee). The mid-size vehicle is also set to go on sale close to November 2021.

GM’s CEO Raves About The Upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV

GM’s CEO Comments On The Upcoming EV Silverado

General Motors recently conducted a Q1 financial report with investors, during which a Deutsche Bank analyst had specific questions regarding the brand’s Silverado EV. This prompted CEO Mary Barra to briefly give some insights about its highly anticipated truck.

“And again, we have incredible know-how in this company and how to do full-sized trucks and we’re taking that into an EV-propelled vehicle, and that I think is going to give us a winning formula. I’m excited to share that vehicle with everyone because it’s just stunning,” Barra commented.

Barra also added that GM expects to have a strong demand for its upcoming electric Silverado. She thinks that the Utilium platform could aid the company in obtaining leadership in the market.

Last month, Chevrolet confirmed rumors regarding the Silverado EV, as they plan on constructing the model apace with the GMC Hummer EV at the company’s Detroit-Hamtramck Factory Zero facility. Both trucks will reside on the Ultium platform, and the aim is for the green Silverado to have a range of about 400 miles or 644 kilometers.

“The vehicles coming from Factory Zero will change the world, and how the world views electric vehicles,” said GM President Mark Reuss when announcing the Silverado EV. “The GMC Hummer EV SUV joins its stablemate in the realm of true supertrucks, and Chevrolet will take everything Chevy’s loyal truck buyers love about Silverado — and more — and put it into an electric pickup that will delight retail and commercial customers alike.”

At the current moment, there is no word as to the arrival date of the electrified Silverado. However, seeing how it proceeds on a different platform than the gasoline model, it leaves room for significant styling changes between the two trucks.

Furthermore, GM is investing $2.2 billion into the Detroit-Hamtramck facility to develop the site into a major center for the company’s electric vehicle production.

More Fun Facts

  • Chevrolet’s first full-size electric truck won’t just be for public consumption, as both retail and fleet versions will be made available.
  • GM claims that you won’t have to worry about spending so much time charging and for only a few miles, as it’s expected for the upcoming Silverado to deliver 400 miles on a full charge.
  • As previously stated, America’s powerhouse automaker is embracing the “Made In The U.S.A” slogan by building the EV truck at GM’s Factory ZERO assembly plant, previously known as the Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Center. This is the company’s first EV-only assembly plant, and not only will it produce the Silverado and the Hummer, but also the Cruise Origin, which is an upcoming self-driving vehicle.

All The Latest On The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV

It’s no secret that the move toward electric cars is fast approaching…no actually it’s already here. Many big-time manufacturers like Tesla, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan have made great strides in the EV world.

Chevrolet is just one of many automakers to compete in this new game, but one shouldn’t assume that it’s new to this electrified car making. The Chevrolet Bolt EV first made its debut in 2016 and since then it’s taken the EV market by storm, winning various awards and getting significant recognition from car magazines and blogs. It’s one of the most successful electric models that an American manufacturer has ever produced, and with its upcoming 2022 model is fast-approaching, this carmaker shows no signs of slowing down. Here’s All The Latest On The 2022 Chevrolet Bolt EV.

Exterior

Though the design of the Bolt EV looks cute and cuddly, the 2022 model will have just a bit more edge and intensity in its design. Some changes that will be made to the style include the adding of a pair of LED headlights to the front, to help lead the car into the twenty-first century. This EV hatchback will use the same architecture as its newborn sibling, the Bolt EUV.

Interior

The interior has also been completely revamped. Opposed to its predecessor, the revisions are more conspicuous, and the automaker has improved the quality of the materials. Drivers will appreciate the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster. There is also a new electronic shifter that doesn’t take up as much space as in the previous one. This new gadget teams up with pull toggles and space-age push-button controls.

Both drivers and passengers will have more than enough room to work with and will be quite comfortable on long road trips. Legroom in the backseat measures at 36.0 inches, and the company says that they’re reconstructed the seats to be more supportive and comfortable. Moreover, there is 16.6 cubic feet of cargo space when the seats are up, but when they are folded, this number increases to 57 cubic feet.

Technology

For the newest Bolt, Chevrolet is considering replacing its old LT and Premier models with two trims dubbed 1LT and 2LT. This doesn’t mean that there will be a loss of any features, nor the addition of them, as the company is only seeking to rename the trims. As one should expect, the infotainment system will have standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You’ll also find wireless charging as a great comfort feature.

Safety-oriented technologies encompass those like adaptive cruise control, automatic front emergency braking, automatic high beams, lane-keeping assist, and 360-degree camera system as available features. The taller Bolt EUV involves Super Cruise, which applies semi-autonomous technology that allows its driver to take his or her hand from the steering wheel during long periods of highway driving.

Performance

Regarding the car’s performance, you won’t see a difference in this 2022 compact. As before, the car will be powered by a single motor that is joined with a 66-kWh battery pack, which enables the vehicle to push out 200 horsepower and 266 lb-ft of torque. This is just the right amount of power that one would need in a car of this size, especially since it’s more equipped for urban cities. Additionally, the one-pedal driving mode will prove to be helpful when driving in heavy traffic.

Range And Charging

When it’s time to go car shopping, there are many potential buyers that are concerned with power and speed capabilities, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but when it comes to an electric vehicle, the main priority should be mile range. As previously mentioned, we’ll be getting the same motor, therefore, the mile range will also stay the same.

The automaker says that the driving range of the 2022 Bolt is 259 miles, but one should know that real-world tests haven’t been performed yet, so this number is subject to change. The 5-door EV includes a 240-volt charging unit for you to use at home, while Level 2 charging and DC charging that gives the car 100 miles of power in 30 minutes.

Price

Each and every year, electric cars are becoming more affordable, and the 2022 Bolt EV is no different. The starting price for this hatchback is $31,995, (plus destination fee), which is $5,000’s less than last year’s model. Essentially, you’re getting an upgrade without having to pay the upgraded price.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

The production of the 2022 Bolt EV will begin by late spring and should be available to purchase this summer. When the time comes to buy your spanking new eco-friendly Chevrolet vehicle, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall, we sell a wide range of models from the automaker and at a variety of different prices.

Chevrolet Proves That Its Design For Its Silverado 1500 Has True Buying Power

The fourth-generation Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has reached its third year of stealing the hearts of pickup lovers everywhere. When this light-duty truck made its debut in 2019, it was praised by many for its design, which significantly contrasts with that of its third-generation model. Even though there have been some critics pointing out what they see as flaws in the styling, with some even using the term “sideburns” to describe the reason for their disdain. However, these sideburns have actually helped to increase sales rather than thwart them.

In a recent interview with car site, GM Authority, Bob Krapes, Director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing said “Research has shown that the number one reason to buy [the Silverado 1500] is design.”

In actuality, the design of the Silverado is the main reason why the pickup is presently the best-selling vehicle in its segment amid buyers with ages ranging from 18 to 34 in North America, as reported in January by GM Authority. While the styling may not be everyone’s preferred taste, it’s doing what it needs to in order to entice customers.

Krapes continued to say that the design has also allowed the Silverado to become the best-selling pickup truck amid Hispanic buyers in the States.

Also encompassing variants like Heavy Duty and Medium Duty pickups, the Silverado is the automaker’s top-selling model by a sizable margin. To put into perspective, 594,094 units of the Chevy truck were purchased in the States during the 2020 calendar year. That signifies 34 percent of the Chevrolet sales and 23 percent of total sales of GM. In truth, the Silverado and its corporate counterpart, the GMC Sierra, together outsold the highly-favored Ford F-Series by almost 60,000 units during that year. While one could argue that this achievement could be due to the F-Series making its way into its 14th generation during the very end of 2020, it still doesn’t take away from its win.

Unfortunately, Q1 of 2021 saw a dip in Silverado sales, surely due to the ongoing effects of the coronavirus pandemic and the worldwide semiconductor shortage. Yet and still, at 126,591 units for the first three months of the year, the pickup still made up for 30 percent of Chevrolet sales and 20 percent of GM sales in North America during that period. These numbers also indicate that if Silverado styling was largely unfavorable, it would have not seen much success.

At this current moment, the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is available with the option of four body configurations, thusly:

  • Regular Cab, Long Bed
  • Double Cab, Standard Bed
  • Crew Cab, Short Bed
  • Crew Cab, Standard Bed

A Regular Cab, Short Regular Bed Silverado is constructed in the States but is only sold in the Middle East. However, GM Authority recently reported that there is still a possibility for these configurations making their way to the U.S. and Canada.

The automaker has also announced in early April that an electric Chevrolet Silverado will be constructed at the GM Factory Zero plant (previously known as GM Detroit-Hamtramck plant) along with the nearing GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV.
