Chevrolet Reveals Three Cool Colors For The 2022 Corvette C8

New Corvette Colors For 2022

Although the All-American Chevrolet brand has a great deal of vehicles under its belt, without question, their Corvette sports car is their main squeeze. Now more than ever, with its recent C8 Corvette entering its third model year, the car has gained widespread popularity. While changes in design have been relatively haven’t been too dramatic, they still add just enough excitement.

Recently, the automaker announced that there are three new color options available. The three new color options include Amplify Orange, Caffeine, and Hypersonic Gray. At least one of these colors is viewed as a premium color, with Amplify Orange being a bit more expensive.

It seems as though the colors Caffeine and Hypersonic Gray are standard. The Caffeine color appears to look brownish, and the shared image from the brand appears to have hints of metallic gold elements to it once it hits the sunshine. The color is very subtle for the Corvette. Hypersonic Gray also serves as a metallic color option, and slightly comparable to the silver that was previously available to the vehicle.

All of next year’s Corvette models will encompass standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as new display options for the digital gauge cluster, such as a tachometer in Track mode. These standard gadgets were presented in the 2021 model year. Buyers of the 2022 C8 models can also select the magnetorheological dampers as a standalone option that doesn’t necessitate buyers to choose the Z51 performance package.

For the time being, no new changes will be applied to the motor, as the Corvette will continue to make use of a 490 horsepower 6.2-liter V-8 engine. The company confirmed that orders for the 2022 model will start by early July.

The drivetrain shifts over from previous years with the 6.2-liter V-8 engine producing 490 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. Car and Driver states that the C8 can reach 60 mph in 2.8 seconds and run the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 122 mph. The 2-door vehicle uses an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The entry-level price for the 2021 Corvette was $60,995, (plus destination fee), with the 2022 C8 likely following suit.

Corvette’s Color Of The Year

The 2021 Corvette already has an exciting group of 12 exterior colors. At the present moment, the fan favorite of the bunch is Torch Red.

For loyal Corvette followers, the popularity in the Torch shouldn’t come as a shock, as GM Authority previously reported that this option was the most desired exterior color for the 2020 Corvette, specifically making up 25 percent of all of last year’s models that were produced. Arctic White came in as the second most popular 2020 Corvette color, making up 15 percent of the sales, while Black came in third place at 12 percent. Finally, with 7 percent each, Sebring Orange and Elkhart Lake Blue came in fourth and fifth, respectively.

All Corvette color options currently include:

  • Sebring Orange Tintcoat
  • Arctic White
  • Ceramic Matrix Gray Metallic
  • Black
  • Accelerate Yellow Metallic
  • Shadow Gray Metallic
  • Rapid Blue
  • Red Mist Metallic Tintcoat
  • Elkhart Lake Blue Metallic
  • Silver Flare Metallic
  • Zeus Bronze Metallic

Inhouse, the 2021 Corvette currently offers eight interior colors, such as:

  • Jet Black
  • Sky Cool Gray
  • Adrenaline Red
  • Natural
  • Natural Dipped
  • Tension with Twilight Blue Dipped
  • Morello Red Dipped
  • Sky Cool Gray with Strike Yellow

Chevrolet Blazer vs. Trailblazer: Two Peas In A Different Pod

To begin with, the Chevrolet Blazer and Chevrolet Trailblazer were never seen as SUVs that necessarily mirror each other. On the other hand, they do have particular characteristics about them that are in fact comparable, such as with their athletic styling and driving mannerisms. Let’s dig a little deeper as to what makes these bow-tie trucks tick.

Benefits of The 2021 Chevrolet Blazer Advantage

Interior Space

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that the larger Blazer has more cargo space. Behind the rear seats, this mid-size SUV has 30.5 cubic feet of capacity, and when the seats are folded down expands to 64.2 cubic feet. For the compact Trailblazer, its numbers measure up to 25.3 cubic feet, and then 54.4 with the seats down. Although the Trailblazer is more suitable for carrying longer items, the Blazer is more capable for general use.

Power and Acceleration

Three engines are offered for the Blazer, such as the standard 193-horsepowered 2.5-liter I-4, a 227-horsepowered 2.0-liter turbo-four, and a 308-horsepowered 3.6-liter V-6. All of these motors are paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission with standard FWD, at the same time, AWD is available for the turbo-four as well as the V-6 engines.

According to testers at car site, MotorTrend, they estimated a 6.1-second 0-60-mph time from a V-6 AWD Blazer RS. Then, for the AWD turbocharged models, they measured a 7.5-second time, while getting a 9-second run from 2.5-liter models.

Fun Factor

Although the Trailblazer has a few flamboyant options on its color palette, the Blazer still stands out. The mid-sizer has a more intense design and even has some Camaro-inspired sportiness.  While it doesn’t replace the real thing, it still has a bit of pep in its step. Its steering is also more stable and precise, and the chassis aids in providing a ride that is comfortable yet energetic.

Benefits Of The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Starting Price

Regardless of all of the gifts and toys that a car has, the price is almost always the main deciding factor when it comes to its purchase. One advantage that the smaller Trailblazer has is that it’s big in affordability. The starting price for Blazer is $30,000, (plus destination fee) and it only goes up from there, however, with a Trailblazer, you can get high-tier trim like AWD Trailblazer RS and Activ models for just under the Blazer’s starting price. Needless to say, if you’re looking for the most bang for your buck, you’ll find a friend with this compact.

Fuel Economy

While the Blazer certainly takes the cake in terms of a powerful ride, one of the perks of the Trailblazer’s powertrains is that they are better equipped for fuel-efficiency. Ironically, this crossover has a larger engine, however, its motors aren’t as thirsty, as its FWD 1.3-liter turbocharger has an EPA rating of 29/33 mpg city/highway, while the Blazer’s smaller 2.0-liter turbo drops off to 22/29 mpg.

Maneuverable Size

The Trailblazer proves that less is more when trying to cut corners and sneak into tight parking spaces, in these instances, the SUV’s tiny frame is a big convenience. Measuring at 173.5 inches long and a width of 71. inches, it’s perfect for maneuvering in congested city streets. Meanwhile, the bulky Blazer expands at 191.4 inches long and 76.7 inches wide, which as previously mentioned, is only a win when considering interior space.

Who Runs Donuts Around Who?

Ultimately, choosing between the Blazer and Trailblazer all depends on the person’s preference. Buyers of the Blazer get the value of more interior space, a mightier engine, and overall better maneuverability on the road. At the same time, the Trailblazer is significantly less expensive on all trims, is more fuel-efficient, and makes parking a breeze.

The Chevy Corvette Commands Authority With High Market Share During Q1 2021

The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette has experienced incredible highs in the United States and in Mexico during the first sales quarter of 2021.

Chevrolet Corvette Sales – Q1 2021 – United States

In North America, deliveries for the Chevrolet Corvette summed up to 6,611 units in Q1 2021, which is about a 73 percent increase as opposed to the 3,820 units sold in Q1 2020.

Chevrolet Corvette Sales – Q1 2021 – Mexico

In Mexico, the deliveries for the Corvette model consisted of 36 units in Q 2021, which means there was a growth of about 140 percent as opposed to 15 units sold in Q1 2020.

Chevrolet Corvette Sales – Q1 2021 – Canada

In Canada, however, the Vette did experience a slight decrease in sales, as its deliveries amounted to 281 units in Q1 2021, which brought its numbers down to about 2 percent as opposed to 288 units sold in Q1 2020.

Competition Sales Comparison (USA)

The significant increase in the Chevrolet Corvette’s North American sales during the Q1 2021 prompted the iconic sports car to maintain its position as the best-selling model in its segment. Essentially, the famous Stingray outpaced all of its other competitors in the sales race, including that of the Porsche 911, Porsche 718, Mercedes-AMG GT, Mercedes-Benz SL, Mercedes-Benz SLC, Audi R8, Nissan GT-R, Ford GT, Acura NSX, and BMW i8.

Sales Numbers – Premium Sports Cars – Q1 2021 – USA

The Corvette’s impressive numbers signify a considerable improvement over figures that were similarly admirable in Q3 2020 in addition to Q4 2020. Throughout these quarters, the 8th-gen model made up over 50 percent of shares for its segment. It’s worth noting, however, that most candidates are much pricier than the Corvette and therefore, it’s less likely this will contribute to the lower volume of buyers.

The Chevy Corvette was able to increase its segment shares up to 51 percent opposed to 43 percent in 2020. Coming in second, is the highly popular and big-time rival, Porsche 911; This car comprised about a third of the Corvettes sales with 22 percent segment share, which is a decrease of 29 percent in the quarter a year ago. Then, Porsche’s 718 line, encompassing the 718 Cayman and 718 Boxster, came up third with a 12 percent segment share, with an increase of 4 percent from a year ago. The remaining contenders like the Audi R8, Nissan GT-R, Ford GT, Acura NSX, and BMW i8, all saw an increase of 1 percent or less in their segment share.

The segment for luxury sport vehicles increased an average of about 44 percent to 12,876 units in Q1 2021, which means that Corvette sales outsold the segment nearly two-fold.

General Motors Say That An Electric Silverado Is Coming Our Way

Electric Chevrolet Silverado

General Motors (GM) recently announced that the Chevrolet division will bring forth its first-ever electric Silverado. This pickup truck will be constructed at the automaker’s Factory Zero assembly plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. Mark Reuss, GM’s president, even confirmed that the GMC Hummer electric SUV (which was revealed this month) will also be built at the same location as the Silverado. Previously, the car company said that the Hummer pickup, as well as the Cruise Origin, would also be made at the Factory Zero store. It is expected that the Hummer pickup will be introduced to the market sometime this year.

GM’s goal is to provide dealerships with over a million electric vehicles worldwide by 2025 and then win over the EV “market leadership in North America,” including that “with the company’s Ultium Platform, virtual development tools and technology, GM has reduced vehicle development times by nearly 50 percent to just 26 months.”

The automaker says that the electrified Silverado has been developed, though in and out, to be an electric vehicle. The company is also estimating that this truck will provide over 400 miles worth of range and all from a full charge, it will also be available for both retail and fleet buyers.

Reuss stated  Chevrolet takes “everything Chevy’s loyal truck buyers love about Silverado—and more—and puts it into an electric pickup that will delight retail and commercial customers alike.”

In January of last year, the automaker said that it was investing $2.2 billion in its Detroit-Hamtramck plant for the purpose of making several electric trucks and SUVs. GM retitled its plant to Factory Zero some months ago in order to convey its vision of a future without crashes, emissions, and congestion.

In fact, GM says Factory Zero is the “launchpad for GM’s multi-brand EV strategy. The facility has advanced technology and tooling and was designed with a focus on sustainable manufacturing.”

Additionally, Factory Zero will be getting significant renovations and upgrades, such as with “new machines, conveyors, controls, and tooling,” for the paint and body shops/general assembly areas.

Since last year, GM has made several announcements regarding its plans for an eco-friendly future, which also involves a modular propulsion system and an adaptive EV platform energized by proprietary Ultium batteries. The automaker has also said that it committed over $27 billion to electrics and autonomous vehicle development, encompassing $7 billion in 2021. The company intends to release 30 EVs worldwide towards the end of 2025, with over two-thirds available in the States. GM says that between Cadillac, GMC, Chevrolet, and Buick, GM will have EVs that range at all price points. Recently, the company announced its 2022 Bolt EUV and Bolt EV, which are expected to arrive in dealerships this summer.

Last January, GM revealed BrightDrop, their new business that seeks to charge up and advance the delivery of goods and services through its systematic offering of electrical first-to-last-mile products, software, and services. The purpose is to help “empower delivery and logistics companies to move goods more efficiently.”

What’s more, this technology will reach over to fuel cells, as it will equip its Hydrotec fuel-cell power cubes to Navistar to utilize in its production model fuel-cell EV, a.k.a the International RHTM Series.

The automaker says that it will spend $2 billion on its Spring Hill, Tennessee, assembly plant to undertake the shift to GM’s third EV plant, alongside Factory Zero and Orion Assembly in Orion Township, Mich.

GM announced the construction of Ultium Cells LLC back in 2019. Cells LLC is a joint venture with LG Energy Solution to mass-produce battery cells in Lordstown, Ohio. According to the company, the facility’s $2.3 billion construction is currently in motion.

2022 Chevy Equinox Revamps Its Wardrobe With Four New Paint Colors

New Cosmetic Features For The 2022 Chevy Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox is getting all gussied up for 2022, and it’s adding four new color options to its makeup palette.

These new selections are set to be introduced with the upcoming Equinox SUV will encompass the following:

  • Blue Glow Metallic
  • Seaglass Blue Metallic
  • Cherry Red Tintcoat
  • Iron Gray Metallic

The refreshed Chevy Equinox will soon unveil its mid-cycle revamp of the crossover, which was previously scheduled for the 2021 model year. Unfortunately, obstacles were met not-so-thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the altered Chevy vehicle then received push back to the 2022 model year.

Along with the new cosmetic options, the 2022 crossover will also bring forth a handful of exterior styling alterations, involving a renovated front grille and lower fascia. The grille and fascia will team up with new, augmented headlamps. These headlamps have long, thin housings that draw in the fenders, succeeding the central design line in the grille.

Additionally, the front will have new fog lamps, while the back end will involve a modified rear bumper and taillights. The body style will also continue to serve as a compact four-door crossover utility vehicle.

In particular, the upcoming Equinox SUV will carry on with offering the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX gasoline engine, assumed to be the upscale powerplant option. Initially, General Motors aimed at introducing the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine to the lineup in order to replace the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LTG, the last-mentioned having been terminated during the 2021 model year. At the moment, however, those plans have taken a different turn, as the LYX will continue to serve as the sole engine option.

To get an idea, the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LYX has an output of 170 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 203 lb-ft of torque at 2,000 rpm. Underneath, the 2022 Chevrolet Equinox will succeed in riding on the GM D2 platform. Manufacturing in North American markets will come to pass mainly at the GM plant located in Canada, and on a smaller scale at the GM San Luis Potosi plant and GM San Luis Potosi plant and GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

More Features To Expect

The upcoming 2022 Chevrolet Equinox will bring much more than just a few paint colors. It’s also tacking on wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as a standard feature among all trims levels.

Moreover, the refreshed SUV will offer the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 system operated by a 7-inch touchscreen as standard on LS, LT, and RS trim levels. Chevrolet Is “Upgrading” To A 3-Cylinder Engine In Its New Camaro

The New Camaro Will Be Powered By A 3-Cylinder Motor

The iconic Chevrolet Camaro is an American staple and one of the most favored muscle cars in the States. Even though a recent recall related to the possibility of shafts missing a retaining ring and the company stalling production in Michigan at its Lansing Grand River Assembly plant ascribed to a shortage of semiconductor chips, this dynamic pony continues to dominate in sales. In order to stay newsworthy and fresh in the automotive industry that’s shifting towards hybrid and electric vehicles more and more each day Chevrolet has made a rather… unexpected announcement. By 2022, some Camaro’s will be operated by a high-performing, turbocharged…three-cylinder engine…Yes, you read that right. Just three cylinders.

Surely, this revelation might have left some in the Camaro fanbase flabbergasted, but before you get your knickers in a bunch, know that this type of change has already become a trend with other automakers, with Ford and Toyota offering similar performances. For instance, the European Ford Fiesta ST is motorized by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder and has an output of 200 horsepower with 214 lb-ft of torque. Then, the Toyota GR Yaris is simply stunning with its ability to produce 257 horsies with 266 lb-ft of torque thanks to its turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine. The latest base-level Camaro model has a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 275 horsies and 295 lb-ft of torque. Chevrolet engineers are aiming to reach those power figures, and have already enhanced the capabilities of the new three-cylinder engine.

“We have been considering going to three-cylinders for a while now,” said Ted Kowalczyk, headman of small capacity motors at the brand. “The way the automotive industry is going, downsizing our engines, and focusing on efficiency is becoming a priority. We do believe that the new three-cylinder engines will be able to deliver the performance our customers have become accustomed to.” As claimed by sources, the new and improved motor should be able to produce over 300 horsepower. However, Chevrolet has kept quiet regarding the future plans of the V8 in the Camaro line, even so, there’s talk of a five-cylinder in the works.

More Of What To Expect

At first glance, it appears as those the automaker is keeping it simple with its upcoming design. Supposedly, rather than a complete remodel of the seventh-generation Camaro, it will look just like a 2021 but with a slight facelift. This isn’t a bad approach, as many automakers like to stick with what has already been working for them, with Jeep being the most notorious of them all. It has also been revealed that the muscle car will come in two different body styles, specifically, a two-door coupe and a two-door convertible (with a soft-top).

Additionally, the same trims (or at least similar ones) that were featured in the Camaro’s previous models, will likely be available in the newest generation. More specifically, the automaker will present the 1LS, 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, LT1, 1SS, 2SS, and ZL1, respectively. As before, the SS model would serve as the SuperSport package while the ZL1 will be the highest-ranking trim. The convertible version of the Camaro will also be available in these trims, with the expectation of the 1LS. Though these prices have not been confirmed, there is a high probability that the price will reach over $20,000, (plus destination fee) for the entry-level 1LS and over $60,000, (plus destination fee) for the high-tier ZL1 model.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

When the time comes to purchase your spanking new 3-cylinder Chevrolet Camaro, be sure to do it at Miami Lakes Automall. We carry a wide range of Chevrolet cars in different trims and prices. It’s also not too late to purchase a current Camaro model still featuring the 4-cylinder motor.
