The Chevrolet Company Plays An Unintentional Game of “Peekaboo” With The Leak of The General Motors Document

The Chevrolet company better stay on its toes, because they have a big leak on their hands. Allegedly there has been an unintentional unearthing regarding the future plans of the company’s C8 Corvette. The specifics of this leak pretty much verify previous rumors about new divisions in the company’s calendar.

Hagerty, an automotive news outlet, disclosed Wednesday of last week (April, 22nd) that after retrieving a document by General Motors announced a standstill for the development of the future Corvette firmwide. Hagerty shared details from the document involving what could likely be impending for the mid-engine vehicle, and if it turns out to be true, there are four new Corvettes predestined in total.

According to the document, GM plans on bringing in the Corvette Z06, which is a great additive to the lineup. This vehicle will include a 5.5-liter dual-cam overtop V8 mounted, with LT6 navigation, and will boost an amazing 650 horsepower with 600 lb-ft of torque. It’s worth noting that there is no notion of a turbo or even supercharger just yet, and this mirrors with some of the specs from the Corvette’s C8.R racing car. The new model will also show off a 5.5-liter DOHC V8 sans forced induction. In accordance with the information, the Z06 is allegedly arriving in 2022, but the delays could push that date back a little.

In succession to this, the Corvette Grand Sport, which will have an engine that is relatively similar, which is a 6,2-liter LT2 V8. The Sport’s engine will continue to be standard from the Stingray. Nevertheless, there is a hybrid system discussed that boosts its performance to 600 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. This electrifying implementation seems to push the power by 105 points over the standard Stingray and is (or was…) scheduled for 2023.

What has been the most impressive of the Corvette ranking is the ZRI, which also has some notable specs. According to the document, this variant will get a 5.5-liter DOHC V8 again but this time with a twin-turbo system to push output to 850 horsepower and 825 lb-ft of torque. As previously stated, these are specifics that continue to follow talk that began going around years ago, providing a bit more believability. The ZRI has an original date for 2024.

What is not just new but also anticipated is the name of the Zora Arkus-Duntov. This model has been dubbed “the father of the Corvette” and worked on countless mid-engined prototypes in his time. The making of the C8 Corvette is mainly the awareness of years worth of ideas and mechanical concoctions. Therefore, it’s been whispered in great frequency that the name would exalt a new variant of the model in order to highlight its prestige.

In this event, it seems like the Zora will be the most energetic variant with a groundbreaking 1,000 horsepower with 975 lb-ft of torque. Based on the document, there should be a version of the LT7 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 and as a hybridized version. Unfortunately, there isn’t much more information explaining the precise degree of the Corvette’s electrification.

When asked about the leaked information, a spokesperson for the company told Roadshow “We are not going to engage in the speculation on potential future product”. However, we’re pretty much assuming that this information holds true, though, it might take a little while longer to get any real confirmation.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

Due to the delay from Chevy’s leak, it’s probable that we won’t see new Corvette variants for a while, but on the bright side, Miami Lakes Chevrolet currently has some updated Corvettes in their possession and one of them being the powerful Stingray, which can push close to 500 horsepower. If you are interested in any of our dynamic models, please view our online new car inventory on our dealership website and chat with an online representative for further assistance.

Can The Corvette C8 Break A 10-Second Quarter-Mile Time?

C8 Miami Lakes Automall

Some diehard Chevrolet Corvette racing enthusiasts were skeptical about a mid-engine Corvette before its debut. For those that were committed to using their Corvette to fly down a drag strip, they can now opt to switch things up as one automotive specialist has done. Taking the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette, which is the first to feature a 15-inch wheel conversion, one Texan specialist team saw room for improvement. Let’s break down the changes to the new “C8” that has perked the ears of many racing enthusiasts in the Chevrolet community. Can the 2020 Corvette improve its time to go under 10 seconds on the strip?

How to Improve the Corvette For Drag Races

The thought behind changing up the all-new 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is not taken lightly. With the first move, a change was made to see the 15-inch wheels being moved and pushed back to ride on the rear axle. This allows for the considerably more generous tire sidewall to help provide traction for that all-important jump once a drag race starts. Note that the Chevy wheels come with a beadlock feature. For those who are used to drag racing, they are used to rubber being burned, but this move should help keep the rubber from burning fast. This move was supplied by Mickey Thompson. Anything to help tires keep rubber longer is a good thing. At least, that is the hope by this automotive specialist.

With the larger wheels added to the front, there will be more help to not only preserve a great start, but there is a chance to save the tires from burning out faster. The thicker 18-inch tires are built with a narrow form, as these skinnier tires generate less friction as the machine flies down the drag strip.

How to Make the C8 Fly Down the Strip

Many Drag Pack options have been compiled to improve the speed of the Corvette when racing them. Some have even involved 18-inch wheels on all four corners, but this mix of 18-inch and 15-inch tires converging is a first. Of course, this meant extra mods, since the smaller wheels required different brakes, along with added suspension work. The work was finished by Texan specialist LG Motorsport. Their work on the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette is unique and impressive. They also took the extra step to render the vehicle with stronger axles as the extra-sticky hardware increases stress on the drivetrain, so this modification works to help relieve that pressure.

Not Everything Needed Modifications

In order to push the 2020 Corvette on a drag strip, no changes were needed to improve the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain. However, the Corvette is not different from any vehicle that races and just like a vehicle in any Fast and the Furious movie, LG Motorsport added a nitrous setup. While numerous developers have included power adders to the LT2 motor of the C8, LG Motorsport has not changed the factory ECU. Looking to break the record for the fastest C8 Corvette in the quarter-mile is a task that has competition as the time has recently been improved upon. The fastest time ever recorded is just 10.495s at a ridiculously fast speed of 130.89 mph. Not quite under 10-seconds but this might happen someday with more modifications. We’re sure all this talk about drag racing in a Corvette gives our readers the need for speed.

What You Need To Know About Charging A Chevy Volt

The Chevy Volt is a dynamic and incredible vehicle due to its advanced safety tech and ability to drive long distances on electricity alone. However, despite the environmental and financial benefit of switching to gasoline to electric-powered vehicles, it seems that the automotive industry has some ways to go before getting the average car buyer fully used to the idea.

Before you run back to ol’ gassy, you should know a bit more about how charging a Chevy Volt actually works. Here is What You Need To Know About Charging A Chevy Volt.

A PHEV Isn’t Your Average Electric

Here’s one important thing to know about not just the Volt but PHEV’s, a.k.a plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in general, these types of vehicles actually have both an electric motor and a gas engine (hence the name “hybrid”). According to ChargePoint, PHEVs mainly draws on a charge of the electric motor, but when needed, it will switch to gasoline. This type of system can provide more peace of mind in the case where one might anticipate a long drive and may feel anxiety about the range.

Why Buying A PHEV Gives You The Advantage

According to Earth 911, buying a PHEV has a lot of gains attached to it, such as a lower amount of CO2 emissions, diminished air and noise pollution, the capability to run on gasoline power while driving on longer trips, and my personal favorite, lower fuel and maintenance cost (potentially save $632 a year on gas). Another interesting benefit for those who buy a PHEV can get a federal tax credit between $2500 and $7500, including city and state tax credits.

Luckily, for those who choose the Chevy Volt as their PHEV of choice, likely won’t have to switch to gasoline-power the most of the time, since the average driver only travels about 30 miles per day, and the Volt’s models can offer from 40 to 53 of all-electric range.

All The Ways To Charge A Chevy Volt

Charging an electric vehicle is usually quite simple and Chevy Volt, you can park pretty much whenever, whether at home or not. There are three ways to charge the Chevy Volt:

The first is by a Level 1 charger, which has 120-volt charging cords that come standard. Simply connect the three-prong plug into your average wall socket and connect the other end to the vehicle’s charging port.

The second is by Level 2 charger, which provides double the amount of charge of 240 volts. You’ll find that most public charging stations that use Level 2 chargers but more often than not, PHEV owners will advance their Level 1 charging system to a Level 2. Drivers who are often in a bit in a rush to his or her destination might want to consider this kind of advancement, as it takes much faster to charge.

The third and final way is through the DC Fast Chargers, in which the charging station uses direct current voltage to the battery by a DC connecter, rather than of the house alternating current. This option will provide the most efficient type of charging and is faster than the previous options. Although it’s worth noting that installing this type of charger comes at a hefty price, therefore, it is much more common at particular public sites and for drivers that plan on taking long trips.

As previously stated, PHEVs can easily switch from electric-power to gas if necessary, therefore, one shouldn’t worry too much if the electric motor is low.

Charging at Home

Regardless of what type of charger you have, its the easiest and the cheapest to simply recharge the battery at overnight in the comfort of your own home. As long as you have a card that can connect to your regular wall outlet, you can add close to 4 miles of range per hour, with a full recharge that can take about 12 hours (likely for Level 1).

Charging In Public

If you are new to driving electric vehicles, then you might not be familiar with all of the charging stations around your area, however, there is a wide range of them, often next to restaurants and retail type of stores. As previously mentioned, most public stations will have Level 2 chargers and it will on about 12 miles of range per hour.

According to Green Car Reports, in the U.S, there are thousands of public charging stations all around. However, its also important to know that not all of these stations are free, and may even use networks that are technologically ill-matched and will entail you to join their membership. On the other hand, your life will be made easier by using the app on your smartphone in order to find charging stations that are the nearest to you.

Miami Lakes Chevrolet

Not only will driving a Chevy Volt save you money on gas but buying a model from Miami Lakes Chevrolet will save you money on the car. We currently have the 2018 Chevy Volt LT in our possession, and for an incredibly affordable price of about $26,000, (plus destination fee). How the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison Can Handle Any Terrain!

Bison Miami Lakes Automall

Most pickup trucks do not provide the ability to have a driver immediately go off-road. The new 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison-19, however, is a different animal. Chevrolet made sure to provide all the upgrades, including superior suspension and protective armor underneath the vehicle to ensure it’s safe and secure for off-road travel right off the bat. While this new Chevy product is a smooth ride while driving on a highway, it was built to handle nearly any surface. Going on adventures on trails means unpaved surfaces (mud, rocks, dirt, sand, and bumpy terrain) when owners of any vehicle go down the road less traveled. Let’s break down how far owners can really go with the Colorado ZR2.

Pickups Are Widely Popular, But Few Are Built Like This

The aforementioned suspension technology added to the Colorado ZR2 Bison was used in race cars like the Ford Mustang GT and Camaro ZL1 1LE. Built with Multimatic shocks, this is a vehicle that uses modern technology to carry on through nearly anything. Triple damper units were added along with analytical software that has been developed through racing over the years. Along with a two-speed electronic transfer case with trailering package that includes brake control, hill-descent control as well as a skid plate for the transfer case, this is a pickup ready from day one. The Colorado ZR2 also provides protection for the entire undercarriage of the Bison. There are few vehicles quite like the Bison and in its second year, it’s become even more impressive for owners to enjoy.

Additional Features of the Bison

How do modern pickups handle the off-road? They only can if they are fitted with the amenities that make it possible. Thank Chevy for thinking ahead with standard 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires. Chevrolet also provides 17-inch wheels with a hoop scoop, special bumpers, recovery hooks (can be very useful in a fix) and added off-road rocker protection. The standard 3.6-Liter V6 engine is a solid choice and owners can opt for the robust 2.8-Liter Duramax inline-four turbodiesel that produces 181 horsepower and a sturdy 369 lb-ft of torque and still hits a respectable 22 highway mpg. With all the support Chevrolet has built into this new 2020 Colorado ZR2 Bison, we are in love with this massive pickup. Currently, the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado is available and starts at $21,300 MSRP (Plus dealership fee). The 2020 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 Bison begins at $42,400 MSRP (Plus destination fee). The Chevy Suburban Celebrates Its 85 Birthday

Happy Birthday Chevy Suburban!

It’s highly likely that the Chevy Suburban has been around longer then you’ve been alive. The ol’ crooner is often the go-to vehicle for political leaders and federal intelligence services, but even more so with bad-guys in your favorite action films, as it has been featured over 1,200 movies and even was honored by the Hollywood Walk of Fame last year. The Suburban isn’t just any vehicle, it has been a game-changer from its beginning to now and its ability to evolve and become more advanced makes it a significant part of American history.

“The name Suburban is so widely recognized that at various times over history it was used by a few vehicle manufacturers,” said Leslie Kendall, curator at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. “But the Chevrolet Suburban was the forerunner of the modern SUV, has stood the test of time, becoming a fixture of Americana.”

In honor of the Chevy Suburban’s 85th birthday, let’s see, just how far its come!

A Stroll Down Memory Lane

America’s SUV was born in 1935, a year where many U.S citizens were just starting to recover from the Great Depression. While models like Ford V8s, Duesenberg SJs and Chrysler Airflows tried their best to compete, they just couldn’t compare to the multi-purposeful Chevy SUV.

“The Suburban Carryall, as it was known in 1935, was designed for versatility,” said Christo Datini, manager of the GM Archives. “It combined the comfort and convenience of a passenger car with the practical hauling capability of a light commercial vehicle. It could seat eight or be reconfigured for maximum cargo capacity by removing its rear seats.”

The mother of all Chevy Suburbans allowed up to three rows for passengers and was powered up (if you want to call it that) with just 60 horsepower from a 6-cylinder engine. It had a two-door body shell that was developed upon General Motor’s crossover chassis, however, what really caught our attention was the Art-Deco-era (apart of the AK Series), in which had a glamourous look it but not so bougie that it looked out of place in the driveway of a farmer.

With each generation, the Suburban has gone through various refinements, powertrains, and computerized systems that one could only dream of when it first made its debut. However, the overall blueprint hasn’t changed.

A couple of years after World War II, more changes were made like the round chrome-grilled nose of the company’s preferred truck line while advancing the torque of the engine in order to make it more adequate for towing. By 1956, there was a complete conversion made from the 1930s style with elements involving wrap-around windshield and body flush with the fenders. Additionally, we finally acquired the V8 engine along with a four-wheel-drive. By the 1960s, it almost unrecognizable with its straight lines and creases on its body, as well as air-conditioning and a rear heater.

It wasn’t until 1967, where the Suburban had some sort of resemblance to the models of present-day, as a third door on the rear passenger side was finally added, making it a hit with families. Within a few more decades, four doors were added as well as increased comfort and emphasis on interior design.

Over the subsequent years style evolved to something sleeker and more cultivated, and was OG when it comes to sharing its exterior style with the Cadillac Escalade.  It also evolved more during the Information Age with advancements in technology like electronic sway control, blind-spot alert, forward collision warning, rear safety alert seat and 4G Wi-Fi. Hands-free liftgates, heated steering wheels, and rear-seat entertainment systems.

“Over the years, the Suburban has become a trusted member of the family,” said Mikhael Farah of Chevrolet Communications. “The 2021 Suburban took what customers loved and made it even better,” Farah said. “The focus on more efficient use of cargo space, interior passenger comfort, interior refinement and overall driving dynamics was the main focus of the all-new Suburban. For the first time in its history, it has an independent rear suspension, that has allowed for a much more refined vehicle overall.”

Additionally, the Suburbans air system gives way to ride-height configuration of up to 4 inches for off-roading. The interior includes impressive features like 10-inch touchscreens, widescreen head-up displays, and 12.6-inch rear monitors. It also includes Adaptive cruise, automatic emergency braking, rear pedestrian alert and side blind zone alert bolster safety. Today’s powertrains push 355 horsepower with a 5.3-liter V8 and 420 with a 6.2-liter V8 turbo-diesel, which are both paired but with 10-speed transmissions and push-button shifting.

The 2021 Suburban is set to release this summer, though there’s talk that its descendent may be an electric variant. General Motors affirmed that they would carry out 20 new electric vehicles by 2023 as well as a reawakened Hummer with a whopping 1000 horsepower.

“While the world has changed significantly, the Suburban is just as relevant today as it was in 1935,” Farah said. And we couldn’t agree more!

New 2021 Corvette C8 Rumors A Full-Go

Chevy-Miami-Lakes-Automall

The newest details are coming out about the 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8. A General Motors document was leaked containing information that shows a list of items. The expected changes for the second model year of the eighth-generation Corvette, named the C8, include some surprises. Among the new changes, Magnetic Selective Ride Control is set to become a standalone option for drivers. A delayed production start during the initial model year for the first-ever mid-engine Corvette also saw a slowdown no thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic. General Motors had to cease all production at its Bowling Green factory just when demand had reached its highest point. As of now, buyers can no longer order a 2020MY Corvette, so the focus has now shifted to orders for the 2021 Corvette C8.

Good News For Those Who Held Out

From the looks of the leaked document, the 2021 Corvette will have some key additions to help drive sales. The information is sourced from the Global Connect Order WorkBench, a software that dealerships often rely on to collect orders for new vehicles. Customers will have the choice of two new body color options including Red Mist Tintcoat and Silver Flare. Both of which, according to Corvette Blogger, shall be in place of Long Beach Red and Blade Silver. It’s a bit unusual to see such a change after just one model year, but it appears Chevy is open to update the available color options to meet demand. A noticeable carbon fiber finish for the high-wing and the door intake trim will be ready for the 2021 Corvette C8, as well as a slew of body stripes that can be selected to match a wide array of colors. For now, the visible carbon fiber ground effects are not available for customers to select for now. The addition of the Magnetic Selective Ride Control as a standalone option means customers no longer have to opt for the Z51 package.

Interior Changes Come As Well

There are some modest adjustments that will be found on the inside as well. Fantastic options like wireless Apple CarPlay are set to become standard across the entire line-up.  The 3LT will be available with a couple of new seat combinations for customers to choose from. New all-weather floor liners are also included, as well as a car cover depicting the C8.R race car. Another listing is the “Stingray R”, but the details to that are not known. Corvette Blogger has this item as a possible special-edition model with visual upgrades taken directly from the C8.R. While these are some of the minor details that will make up some of the changes, we know the timing of the 2021 Corvette C8 is set to start later in the fall of 2020.

Production Is Nearing For 2021 C8

The beginning of assembly of the 2021 Corvette is scheduled to ramp up by September 2020. That’s if production isn’t slowed down by that point due to the coronavirus aftermath. We have hopes the slowdown will not hinder production of the mid-engined sports car, making it back-to-back years of a slowed roll out. There has been speculation and reports that have placed the Chevrolet Corvette sports car at a new starting price over last year’s considerably low $60,000 MSRP for the base model. Chevrolet actually loses money with the sale of the low-end C8 trims. Thinking about driving the premiere Chevrolet product?

General Motors Decides To Delay The Release of The Chevy Bolt

Why The Chevy Bolt’s Debut Is Postponed

This year, General Motors had plans to give the Chevrolet Bolt a little nip-and-tuck with improvements in both design and technology as well as the implementation of seats that provide more comfort and adaptive cruise control for the first time. However, on the 31st of last month, the company announced that it will delay its debut of the new Bolt version likely until 2021 due to the impact on business from the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, the updates will accompany the 2022 model-year Bolt.

Megan Soule, a spokesperson for GM, gave information to Elecktrek, an automobile news site, regarding the temporary halt by email saying “As a result of the current business situation, we have decided to launch the refreshed Bolt EV in 2021 as a 2022 model and the Bolt EUV remains on schedule.”

As of yet, it is not clear if the company’s postponement of plant operations at Orion Assembly, where the Bolt is manufactured, will have an effect on the supply of this year’s version of the Bolt. Soule continued further “ Previously, we announced the suspension of regular plant operations across North America through March 30. We have recently expanded that suspension and will continue to evaluate our operating plan going forward. When we can safely resume production, we will.”

Since this decision, GM is promoting the Bolt EV until the end of spring with a markdown for up to $10,000 with a starting price of $199 per month for leases.

Changes That Will Be Pushed Back

The changes to the redesigned Bolt by next year will likely have a design that is a bit sportier. The seats will not only be more comfortable but redesigned, this should hopefully solve common complaints by customers about the seat cushions being thin. Additionally, there will be an updated front fascia and rear lights. Since there since is finally implementation of adaptive cruise control, there will be a larger band of cameras on the front windshield, though it will not offer Super Cruise.

In the interior, Chevy stylists diminished the dashboard’s plastic look and improved the infotainment system. Other features will include a push-button gear selector rather than a regular one. The steering wheel has a more athletic and attractive look with a bottom that is leveled off.

GM said that the scheduling for the production of the Chevy Bolt still remains on track. It is expected that the larger Bolt EUV will make its debut this summer, with production starting next year at GM’s Orion Township assembly plant. The EUV’s wheelbase is 5 inches longer than this year’s Bolt.

Also, the company is temporarily stopping planning and development for updates, mid-cycle, of some of its internal-combustion trucks, sports cars, and SUVs.

Count On the New 2020 Chevrolet Camaro Over the 2020 Ford Mustang

Camaro Miami Lakes Automall

A long and storied history between automotive rivals Ford and Chevrolet dates back decades ago as these two brands have pioneered the way for other muscle cars to end up on the roads. The Ford Mustang and Camaro both debuted in the mid-1960s, forever changing the automotive landscape. These pony cars are still cherished today among buyers around the world. As muscle cars have become more intelligent and in demand than ever before. What does the landscape look like in 2020 between these two well-known and respected cars?

2020 Camaro Offers High-Level Perks

The new 2020 Chevy Camaro has gone through transformations that have pushed forward new innovation since 1966. The current sixth-generation Camaro provides owners with a slew of new features new to the 2020 model. Some of the upgrades include wireless charging pad for smartphones, a teen driver setting to restrict functions of the vehicle when a teen is driving, plus an available rear camera mirror as well. The perks of the Camaro extends to managing the performance of the vehicle with Chevrolet’s Performance Data Recorder that is available, along with modern perks like 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities. While some muscle cars have gotten smaller in the past decade or so, the Camaro went from a compact car from the 1960s to 2002 to a mid-size car beginning in 2010.

The Ford Mustang now offers an 8-inch screen and offers a voice-controlled navigation setup similar to the one found in the Chevrolet Camaro. Customers can choose to add features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection in either vehicle for an additional cost. The difference between these vehicles comes with elements under the hood.

What Are the Powertrain Differences?

The base 2020 Ford Mustang includes a turbocharged, 2.3-Liter four-cylinder engine that makes 310 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque. Currently, owners will not be able to have a Mustang with all-wheel-drive. Mustang owners get a jump from the four-cylinder powertrain up to the V8 with no V6 option. The V8 engine found in the Mustang

gets 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque, but there is no chance of an automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the base Camaro models come with a turbocharged, 2.0-Liter four-cylinder engine that supplies 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission come standard, while an eight-speed automatic is offered at an extra cost. There is a 3.6-Liter V6 with 335 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque engine available, as the Camaro is standard with a six-speed stick, but it can be added with an optional 10-speed automatic transmission. Chevrolet provides more options than Ford.

The Camaro SS trim supplies the very powerful direct-injected 6.2-Liter V8 engine that hits 455 horsepower and 455 lb-ft. of torque, fast enough to go from 0 to 60 mph in just a mere 4.1-seconds. The Z1L trim gets a supercharged version of the 6.2-Liter V8 powertrain that provides an owner with 650 horsepower and a whopping 650 lb-ft of torque. Both V8-powered models come with a six-speed manual transmission, with a 10-speed automatic transmission at an extra cost. Both vehicles supply the same estimated fuel ratings of 25 mpg combined city and highway rating. In the various measures of vehicle strength, as well as technology, the Chevrolet Camaro has proven itself against the rival Ford Mustang.

Which Vehicle Is More Expensive?

The difference between the two must be cost? Even with all the perk afforded to the Camaro, there is yet another check in the box for the 2020 Chevrolet Camaro. Buyers can be happy knowing the starting price is at $25,000 MSRP for a Camaro is a whole $1,670 less than the starting price of the 2020 Ford Mustang. The Chevrolet Trailblazer Is Making A Comeback in 2021 With A 28 MPG Combined EPA Rating

The Trailblazer’s Impressive MPG Rating

Shoppers who are interested in purchasing a small SUV want the space without sacrificing the fuel economy. The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer was revealed almost a year ago as a compact car offered in its lineup, squeezing between the entry-level Trax and the highly favored Equinox. At long last, an official EPA rating for the Trailbrazer’s fuel mileage has finally been released…kind of…

The newest Trailblazer certainly lives up to its name as it is offered with 1.2-liter as well as a 1.3-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine with either front or all four wheels. According to Fuel Economy, there an option for the 1.3-liter AWD model to have a little collaboration with a nine-speed automatic transmission, the highest-spec powertrain option.

Additionally, the 2021 Chevy model earns a 26 mpg rating in city conditions with 30 mpg as the official rating for the highway. In general, this rating a little better than the miniature Trax with its high-spec 1.4-liter turbo three-cylinder and AWD, however, this comparison is very like-for-like. On the other hand, the Trailblazer defeats the larger Equinox despite its arrangement. Those who decide upon the 1.5-liter turbo engine with AWD in the Equinox should know that it would be pretty similar at 27 mpg combined.

It might not seem like it, but the new Trailblazer is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to rising up against the AWD competition. It’s 28 combined mpg rating is perfectly equal to the Honda HR-V, though ranks lower only slightly for the highway and accelerates past the Mazda CX-30 at a rating of 27 mpg combined. The domestic competition also has trouble keeping up with the Trailblazer as the Jeep Renegade matches up at 26 mpg and Ford’s EcoSport model comes in a little behind at 25 combined mpg, even though its closer to the Chevy Trax in size.

The Trailblazer is David in the market of Goliath with its smaller 1.2-liter engine and 4WD still dominating in terms of having better fuel economy, but as a note, the exact figures are not available right now. However, assessing from the estimates from FWD competitors, it is expected that Trailblazer will come in close to 30 mpg combined.

Features To Expect and Release Date

The 2021 Chevrolet Trailblazer will come out swinging with its spacious interior, the company states that the total cargo capacity is 54 cubic feet with 60/40 split second-row seats folded.

The new Chevy model wouldn’t be so new if it didn’t have updated driver-assist features like forward-collision warning, lane-keeping assist, and automated emergency braking, all of which are standard. Optional features include adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring as well as infotainment features like Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto.

The Trailblazer is set to be released in the Spring this year (2020), and will have a base price close to $20,000, (plus destination fee).
