Chevy Is Giving The People What They Want: A Camaro ZL1 1LE With an Automatic Transmission

A car favorite, for Camaro’s enthusiasts, got a face-lift (or better yet a transmission lift), and it’s exactly what the people have been wanting. The 2019 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is now an easier drive thanks to a six-speed manual transmission and its quicker and newly available 10- speed automatic transmission.

It is important to note that previously, the Camaro ZL1 1LE, was only available with a manual transmission. But the 2019 ZL1 1LE Camaro, which will be available for sale beginning in February 2019, is switching from manual gears to an automatic transmission. Chevrolet called the 2019 ZL1 1LE “the fastest, most track-capable Camaro ever,” on their press release.

The real transformation that Chevy engineers pushed the limits on when building the automatic transmission was making it more than one half second faster than the standard manual transmission on General Motors’ 2.9-mile Milford Road Course. Its supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine produces 455 horsepower and 455 pound-feet torque, which routes through a six-speed manual gearbox to the rear wheels.

There’s a lot that’s been done to the updated Camaro ZL1 1LE. The transmission itself is one that’s been previously used in the Camaro SS for the 2019 model. The updates come where Camaro designed a new fitted trans oil pan and added additional cooling ducts, as well as tuning the unit to work with the electronic differential and stability control. But the most important change to the 2019 model is the dampers that have also been tuned to neutralize the weight transfer from the faster shifts.

Camaro Chief Engineer, Mark Dickens, stated on the press release that the transmission is optimized for speed. “With unique Track Mode calibrations and 10 gears, you are always in the perfect gear when rolling on or off the throttle. You may not be a professional race car driver, but now you can shift like one”.

Talk about getting a major upgrade. Everything is just a second quicker with the newly added enhancements.

The self-shifting cars tested to be over half-second quicker than the manual-equipped versions in GM’s 2.9- mile test track, thanks to the extra gear ratios on tap and quicker gear changes. The quickness in shift should appeal more to Camaro buyers that go for automatic, which Chevy says it’s about 80 percent of its buyers.

The ZL1 1LE is not a limited edition, although Chevy only anticipates for annual sales to go from anywhere of 800-1,000 units sold. Its design draws attention to the engineering excellence of Chevrolet’s Performance engineers and it’s corporate partners. “Success revolves around how brightly the ZL1 1LE shines against its competition,” stated.

Goodyear, a tire and rubber company, spent three years developing two brand new tires solely for this car – one for the front, and another for the rear, each with different fundamental behavior. The Canadian firm, which is best known for its Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers, Multimatic, completely re-engineered some of the most crucial front suspension components.

The Camaro ZL1 has a starting MSRP of $62,000 (plus destination fee) but an add-on of the 10-speed, to the $7,500 1LE package is $1,595 which totals the package up to $9,095.00. The 1LE package will include an adjustable suspension with active dampers, wider wheels and tires, larger Brembo brakes and a big wing and redesigned front end designed to increase downforce at high speeds.

“Adding an automatic transmission is another example of the Camaro portfolio delivering what customers want. This ultimate 1LE is another appealing option that is true to its racing heritage,” Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet passenger car and crossover marketing, also said on the press release.

The added speed will be welcoming for those who love cruising fast down the road. But don’t worry. If you still want to purchase a manual Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE, Chevrolet is still selling it. It’s the new and improved Camaro for those who have wanted an old familiar friend with an automatic transmission.

Goodbye to the Chevy Sonic

The Chevy Sonic is being taken out of production and is saying goodbye indefinitely, at least that was the rumor a few years ago. Rumor no more. Fast-forward two years and it seems that General Motors is planning on discontinuing this model. (Cue crying cards).

Many blogs such as the and have reported that the Chevy Sonic is “reportedly dead”. But hold your horses. General Motors is saying goodbye to that model in a particular market and that is the Canadian market, not the U.S. market. Not just yet anyway.

When reached out to the automaker for further information, a representative said: “We have not announced any plans to stop selling the Sonic in the U.S.”

So what was the cause of people thinking Sonic was saying goodbye? Since its arrival to the market in 2012, the highest sales volume for the Chevy Sonic was 93,518 units in 2014 and it hasn’t seen numbers like that since. In 2018, that number dropped to 20,613 units.

Even with the model going smaller, with just half the size it was three years ago, it hasn’t had any luck in the sales department. It’s one of the reasons why this model is being axed.

In fact, Chevy was discontinuing several of its models due to low sales. Those models Included Chevy Cruze, Impala, and Volt. Although they are not getting rid of the Sonic just yet, Chevy is going to focus its attention on selling more popular SUVs and trucks.

Chevy Sonic sales have seen a continuous slip in purchases for a number of years. If you were to compare last year’s sales with the sales around this time, you will see that it fell 41.2 percent, “its sold less than one-third of 2014’s volume”, according to

With its focus shifting to SUVs and trucks Chevy has also announced that they are going electric. But what does that mean for 2019 Sonics? At the moment they are still selling. According to a GM spokesperson, GM will stop building the Sonic “as early as this year”.

In 2017 Sonic came out with new rims, new colors, and new trims. The technology also got an upgrade with optional features that include a power driver’s seat, keyless entry, and push-button start, heated cloth seats, and a heated steering wheel. (Convenient for those living up North). Twenty-seventeen and later models are equipped with a 7.0-inch MyLink touchscreen that offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability.

So what exactly is Chevrolet losing when Sonic finally goes away? For it being such a small compact car, it offers up to 38 MPG highway.

When Chevy Sonic’s first came to the market it replaced the Chevrolet Aveo as the subcompact car in the Chevrolet model lineup. Another small car by Chevrolet is the Spark which is sold for a little over two thousand dollars more than the Sonic and it goes 38 MPG over the Sonic, who goes 37 MPG.    The Sonic has a standard 1.4L turbocharged, 138 horsepower engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. It has available Bluetooth integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. So you can stay connected on the go.

There are two models of Chevrolet Sonic: the Sedan and Hatch. Both the sedan and hatch have a 26/34 MPG but their prices are a bit different. The 2019 sedan costs $15,420 (plus destination fee) while the 2019 hatch costs $18,020 (plus destination fee).

Don’t think for a second that Chevy is the only one saying goodbye to an older model. It was also announced that Ford is saying goodbye to all of their sedans except the Mustang just like Fiat Chrysler Automobiles did in 2017 when they eliminated the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200. Their main focus turned to crossovers and SUVs.

Don’t fret. You can still purchase a Chevrolet Sonic. You can search our inventory of Chevy Sonics at Miami Lakes Automall.  Make sure to stop by for a test drive and see if this model and make is the car for you.

Chevrolet has been hard at work to produce their first-ever medium-duty Silverado. The concept was first introduced at the 2018 Work Truck Show in Indianapolis. This vehicle has been produced in a partnership with Navistar International. In January 2019, the production for the new Medium-Duty Silverado began rolling off the line and into Chevy dealerships. The all-new Chevrolet 4500/5500/6500 trucks are listed as Class 4, 5 and 6 vehicles. The 2019 Mid-Size Silverados are already being produced in Springfield, Ohio. So, what makes these larger and strong vehicles impressive and newsworthy? Let’s get into the history and how far Chevrolet has come to step back into the mid-size truck segment in a big way.

Chevrolet’s History With Mid-Size Trucks + All-New Silverados

These are the first medium-duty trucks Chevrolet has put out since their run of the Chevrolet Kodiak, which produced from 1980 to 2009. These vehicles are a bit smaller than the Kodiak, however, their strength is improved with more recent technology allowing for improved maneuverability, factory air-suspension and stands to be the most customer-focused medium-duty trucks on the market today.

The all-new Silverados have already gathered the prestige to change the industry thanks to a dedicated team driven that worked tirelessly to ensure these vehicles were ideal for those looking for mid-size trucks that can operate effectively and easily. Lots of questions and work requirements paved the way for Chevrolet to answer the bell and provide answers for those who needed trucks like the all-new 2019 Silverado Mid-Size line-up.

“Chevy’s designers and engineers were obsessed with making this Silverado the most customer-focused medium duty truck of any major competitor. By customer-focused, I mean work-ready trucks that are easy to upfit, easy to drive, easy to service and easy to own,” said Ed Peper, U.S. vice president, GM Fleet.

Silverado Solutions For Their Customers

First and foremost, the cost of upkeeping these special and unique Silverado trucks came to mind for buyers and investors. The solution to truck frames that rust was to come up with a factory-painted frame with singular piece frame rails that are smooth and carry through-the-frame fuel fill lines so they don’t interfere with body mounting. The frame couldn’t be compromised leaving behind the rear axle to handle longer cargo boxes without reinforcements. Chevrolet came up with Seven Cab-to-Axle options ranging from 60 to 162-inches and five unique axle-to-back-of-frame length sized in 8-inch increments.

Another obstacle was coming up with a good design that wouldn’t require technicians to need ladders or remove any vehicle parts to access under-hood components for any repairs. So, Chevrolet made a lightweight, front-hinged “clamshell” hood that allows for easier access than ever to work on the vehicle, no ladder required. Chevrolet didn’t stop by making the vehicle easier to repair, it made the cabin totally different.

Further Improvements For the All-New 2019 Mid-Size Silverado

A factory-installed rear air suspension, which is not available for rival brand Ford, helps to reduce vibration and harshness while driving. Owners will be able to know the inset doors are triple-sealed and this will prevent wind and road noise from entering the cabin. The Silverado is going to have both two-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive options. A 6.6-Liter Duramax diesel engine that operates with 350 horsepower and an impressive 700 lb-ft of torque makes up the powertrain for each Silverado.

The interior will have a built-in 4GLTE Wi-Fi hotspot (paid data plan needed) and wireless cellphone charging to set this line-up apart. Owners will enjoy Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities as well. More than 400 commercially-focused Chevrolet dealerships will carry this new line of vehicles. The starting price for the 2019 Chevy Silverado 3500 regular-cab chassis cab with a 141-inch wheelbase will begin at less than $47,999 MSRP (plus destination fee.)

This time the Blazer will be a completely reimagined vehicle. The new vehicle will hit the crossover and SUV market with a fresh take.

The last time the Chevy Blazer was around, it ran from 2001-2008 as a mid-size, body-on-frame SUV. Chevrolet is banking that no one will mind that this new Chevrolet Blazer doesn’t resemble the previous Blazer. The new model will make the fourth Chevrolet SUV in their line-up including the small Trax, Equinox, newly announced Blazer, and the largest entry, the Traverse.

New Chevy Blazer Features

The unibody platform is new and is based off the same one used for the GMC Acadia. There will be three trim levels from the base model, to the sporty RS and finally the top-tier Premier trim. The Premier is luxurious and carries the trusted 3.6-Liter V6 Pentastar engine that provides 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The 2019 Chevrolet Blazer will have both front and all-wheel-drive versions. The 4,500-pound towing capacity comes with the larger engine. Drivers will love the sleek look and power, with the Chevrolet Camaro serving as an influence. The Blazer carries a large grille, tall hood, narrow headlights and sculpted sheet metal. The cabin comes with round air vents inside the vehicle, dual-zone climate controls are standard with a panoramic roof and hands-free power liftgate are optional for the Blazer.

2020 Silverado HD Miami Lakes

2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is Ready To Please Everyone

The pickup segment has become very popular in the last several years. There are compact pickups, mid-size and full-size pickups and lots of versatility within the truck choices customers have. What customers want is the ability to craft their perfect vehicle and have the ability to have accessibility to use their vehicle for many purposes; this is how the pickup industry has become more popular. Well, Chevrolet has been paying attention to their customers and the industry as a whole and will cater to drivers with five trims for their upcoming 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD.

The Silverado HD is their heavy-duty pickup that provides a solid choice for businesses and working drivers. There are multiple choices for a variety of drivers. The base model is the Work Truck (WT), followed by the Custom, LT, LTZ and finally the high-end High Country trim. With each level comes another level of technology and premium luxury added.

“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses. That insight shaped our strategy for the next-generation Silverado franchise, providing customers more differentiation between the Silverado 1500 and the Silverado HD as well as more personalization and differentiation between individual trim levels,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president of GM Global Design.

New For the 2020 Silverado HD

One thing that will come with every 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is the bold, redesigned face that carries a different design than any pickup on the market. The 2020 Silverado HD is vastly different from the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500. With an available gas engine and the impressive Duramax turbo-diesel, the Silverado HD will be quite improved. The V8 will carry new trailer hauling technology with a big gooseneck flatbed trailer that is equipped with dual axles and dually wheels. New door-mounted large side towing mirrors are also in place to help to make towing easier. Higher towing and payload capabilities are expected for the latest Silverado HD, but for some reference, the 2019 Silverado 2500 HD has a towing capacity of 13,000 to 14,500 pounds, though the Silverado HD 1500 will not be expected to have as high a number. The latest heavy-duty Silverado pickup will hit stores in mid-2019 and orders will begin to be placed in the spring.

“We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck. The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer,” Simcoe said.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado

Silverado Stays True To Its Name

2019 Chevrolet Silverado

The Chevrolet Silverado finished 2018 with very similar numbers to 2017. This success happened despite rival brands Ford and Ram introducing all-new generation pickup variations. The Silverado sold 585,581 vehicles, more than 49,00 more vehicles than the rival Ram trucks over the course of 2018. A large reason for the sustained success came on the strength of the new Durabed truck bed produced by Chevrolet. A high-strength steel bed that was larger by 10 cubic feet from the previous model and included Best-in-class cargo volume, box length, and box depth. A stronger hauling experience for customers was matched by an improved interior.

Chevy Giving What Customers Want

Across the industry, the latest wave of pickup trucks hitting the market included a focus on increased levels of comfort for drivers; Chevrolet kept up with those demands. A wide range of choices begins with the least expensive base model, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Work Truck begins at $29,795 MSRP (plus destination fee). Drivers would want power from their pickup, but not settle for a lackluster interior for superior power. For customers that want the most out of their pickups, they would opt for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country.

Drivers in 2018 fell in love with the High Country interior appointed with leather upholstery, a large 8.0-inch touchscreen with navigation, ventilated and heated front seats and heated rear seats for passengers. Modern technology surrounds the interior from wireless charging to multiple USB ports for the driver and passengers to use. Many made the 2019 Silverado High Country their own and didn’t have to pay a huge premium to get the best Silverado on the market. The crew cab trim for the High Country starts at $57,795 MSRP (plus destination fee).

Where The 2019 Silverado Stands

The 2019 Silverado placed in the pickup Olympics. Even with the competition being fierce, Chevrolet knew they had a good product on their hands and 2019 looks to be an even more impressive year for Chevy. Americans have a growing obsession with the full-size pickup truck segment and the Silverado is one of the reasons why.

“The Silverado has been making a slow transition to the 2019 model year. Once full production gets online in the starting months of 2019, will get a better idea of the Silverado’s market presence,” said Jeremy Acevedo, data strategist at Edmunds.

What To Expect In A Chevy

Chevrolet owners can expect great value and durability; the latest technology, well-engineered vehicles and recognition from top automotive sources. Interested buyers will be happy with the latest Chevrolet Silverado and its strong powertrain options. The 5.3-Liter V8 eight-speed automatic and 6.2-Liter V8 with 10-speed automatic transmission both offer more than a 5 percent improvement in city fuel economy, now hitting 17 city MPG. The highway miles per gallon has gotten better as well, getting drivers up to 23 mpg for the 2019 Silverado. Models with the four-wheel drive and 6.2-Liter V8 gain an impressive fuel economy of 16 city and 20 highway MPG. The latest Chevy trucks were successful in 2018 and look to have another fantastic year in 2019.
