Chevrolet has enjoyed a good year for both innovative new vehicles and more acclaim for their craftsmanship. Chevy found success with their all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 and 2019 Chevy Trax. As 2018 draws to an end, let’s recap the latest Chevy vehicles that have come out. Let’s start with the all-new Chevrolet Silverado, a stunning example of one of the highlights in 2018 for Chevrolet. There’s something for everyone within the latest Chevy vehicles!

All-New 2019 Chevrolet Silverado

The newest Silverado from Chevrolet is an enhanced and well amplified light-duty pickup truck. The 2019 Silverado extended its bed size by 10 cubic feet from the former model and worked to claim the Best-in-class cargo volume, box length and box depth. Through the enhancement of their truck bed, new frame and overall interior, Chevy knew they had to name their truck bed to differentiate itself from other companies. They named the truck bed the Chevy Durabed and it is far more superior than what is offered from the competition in the pickup market. The Durabed is so strong it can endure 72518.9 pounds of pressure-per-square-inch, reaching over double the former Silverado rating from the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado truck.

Not only did the Durabed help raise the value of the all-new Silverado, owners have the choice of three available transmissions, (six, eight and 10-speed options). The Crew Cab models have increased the to over 500 pounds more with the maximum towing capacity up to 12,200 pounds with the 6.2-Liter V8 engine and four-wheel-drive. Owners will also have best-in-class box depth and box length at floor, with the standard box reaching 79 inches, 3 more than the Ford F-Series and Ram 1500. The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado starts at $29,795 MSRP (plus destination fee) for the base model Work Truck. The most valuable, superior 2019 Silverado High Country begins at $54,495 MSRP (plus destination fee). Thanks to the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado, Chevy has attracted many new customers. Chevrolet Keeps it Fresh with 5 New Trim Levels for the 2020 Silverado HD

2020chevroletsilverado

Chevrolet is well aware that no two truck customers are the same. This is why, only a few months ago when they announced the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, they had given consumers the choice between eight distinct trim levels.  It has only been a couple of months since Chevrolet announced their new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and already, they are back with more amazing news! Chevrolet has just announced five trim levels for the all-new 2020 Silverado HD, giving customers more customization options for their trucks.

What’s New With the 2020 Chevrolet HD

The new redesign for the 2020 Chevrolet HD has turned out to be one of the most ambitious and spectacular styling experiments in the industry. Featuring a bold, intimidating face and unique design, the 2020 Silverado HD sets its sights on standing apart from the Silverado 1500. GM designer have nearly overhauled every exterior piece of this truck with the exception of the roof. The most noticeable difference may be the re-imagined front end. Unlike Chevrolet models of years past, the some of the new Silverado HD trims will do away with the iconic bowtie and replace it with a Chevrolet stamped bar. Exterior remodeling will also include bumpers, four steps to access the truck bed, as well as a two-door option not previously available. In addition to the redesigned exterior, it will be available with a new gasoline engine with direct injection, a Duramax turbo-diesel V8, higher towing and payload capacities, and brand new trailering technology.

The 5 New Trim Levels

As with the 2019 Silverado 1500, each 2020 Silverado HD model trim will offer a different level of design, features and technology. For the new model year, the Silverado HD will be available in Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country trims. As stated previously, each of these trims will feature exclusive external design elements as well as a wide range of options for features and technology.

“Truck customers are very clear: They want the perfect truck for them and not a ‘one size fits most’ truck compromised for the masses,” said Mike Simcoe, vice president of GM Global Design. “ We took into account every detail of what customers expect, and how they will use their truck. The results are unique versions of the Silverado HD equally at home working on a construction site or pulling a camping trailer.”

Currently, the information for each trim option has not been made public. However, there have been some confirmations regarding the High Country trim.

The High Country will lose the “Chevrolet” badge across the front of the grille on the Silverado 2500HD and in its place will be the traditional bowtie logo. The truck will also feature 20-inch chrome wheels, chrome side mirror caps and a metal skid plate instead of the plastic version available on the LT trim. Extended running boards will provide easier access to the cab and the rear bumper will be body-colored rather than metal.

Chevrolet expects the Silverado HD to be available for purchase by mid-2019. News regarding the upcoming trims continue to roll out, so be sure to stay tuned for more information including specifications and pictures.

Chevrolet Shifts Focus to Electric Vehicles

Miami Lakes Automall 2019 Bolt EV Charging

Well, there’s some interesting news going down over at Chevrolet, under the automotive umbrella of the General Motors group. If unawares, General Motors is starting to pick up their slack when it comes to getting on the bandwagon for zero emission propulsion and powertrains. With the upsurge of electrified and alternative fuel vehicles estimated in the coming years, GM is not one to fall behind, and with Chevrolet already having moderate success in alternative fuel with the Chevrolet Bolt EV, a large change is about to take place. Chevy will be shifting away from the Chevrolet Camaro to focus on electrified vehicles (EVs).

Competitor automotive group Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has already unveiled their plans for going electric with many vehicles already underway. To keep up, GM is making some decisive moves. Car and Driver were there to report on the newest announcement.

“Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer and spiritual leader of the Chevrolet Camaro program for more than a decade, is moving to General Motors’ newly formed AV/EV organization to focus on zero-emission-vehicle development.”

Chevrolet is getting closer to revealing their latest pickup. News about this Silverado HD has been coming out bit by bit, but Chevrolet has not given very many details about this upcoming phenomenon. One thing is for sure, there’s going to be a lot of drivers clamoring to drive this all-new Silverado when it arrives. The pickup looks large and lives up to the HD “Heavy-Duty” moniker. The 2020 Silverado HD includes a Duramax turbo diesel V8 engine that gains a new 10-speed automatic gearbox, a new gasoline engine with direct injection and a wider, roomy cabin is also expected for this product.

What Else To Expect

Chevrolet has spent a lot of time and effort strengthening and redefining their brand. While many automakers have tried, few have walked away with something as strong and menacing as what the new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD looks like. The 2020 Silverado HD stands out thanks to an enormous front grille, boldly displaying the Chevrolet bowtie. The chiseled hood features a detailed, chrome-trimmed design and all expectations are this Silverado will contain plenty of power and towing capacity.

“We set out to make a statement with the 2020 Silverado HD and wanted to visually capture the power and capability of the truck. The result is a truck that looks like a piece of heavy machinery with modern, chiseled finishes and customer-focused details,” said Brian Izard, the pickup’s lead exterior designer.

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 LT5 Crate Engine Is Ready For Customers

For those looking to add some serious performance to their vehicle, a new crate by Chevrolet has been announced that will give car owners the chance to upgrade their engine. General Motors confirmed at the 2018 SEMA Show in Las Vegas that they have plans to introduce the LT5 engine from the C7 Corvette ZR1 as a new crate engine package for customers to purchase. Prepared as a crate engine from the company’s performance parts division, the first orders are currently being placed. With companies like Mopar releasing engine crates for classic cars, it comes as no surprise that General Motors and their performance parts department are also offering installation packages. Engine crates and engine crate kits make installing a modern engine in a classic muscle car more manageable and not as difficult as one would expect.

Thinking of Adding Premium Performance to Your Classic Ride? The Price Has Been Revealed

With the introduction of the LT5 crate engine, a remarkable 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque can be added to any project car. The price for this remarkable engine crate has been announced by GM, and the cost is for those looking for a true powerhouse engine and won’t settle for less – it’s cost is $19,995 MSRP. For a limited time, the price is currently set at a discounted mark of only $17,915.

Worth the Hard Work

Hoping to get this bad-boy crate? General Motors Performance Parts will be offering a plug-and-play wiring setup and a unique 6L80 automatic transmission to make the LT5 swap simpler, but right now, it seems that buyers will have to manage all of the installation difficulties on their own. Though many won’t mind getting a chance to work towards adding the large LT5 engine, those proficient builders who are only interested in the engine itself rather skip the experience and would prefer the help.

It’s rare that an engine comes in a crate for sale, especially an engine like the LT5. The closest example to this General Motors product would be the HellCrate HEMI from Mopar that provides 707 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque at $19,530 MSRP. That puts the LT5 in the same basic ballpark as the other high-performance engine offered as a stand-alone product. For any person looking to massively change their vehicle’s performance, there is a new option in town to make that happen. Giddy up!

Chevrolet Announces 2020 Chevy Silverado HD

Miami Lakes Automall 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD

Jeez, it’s only been a few weeks since the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was showcased by the General Motors Corporation. With many trim levels for the 2019 model year and many powertrains, consumers could get a Silverado pickup truck designed for their needs and purposes. Around the same time, the Chevrolet Silverado was voted as “Truck of the Year” by editors and writers from AutoGuide who took the Chevy Silverado for a test drive. Well, Chevrolet must be listening to their consumers, because soon after they unveiled the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 2020 Chevy Silverado HD was announced to debut in February 2019.

For those keeping count, this is the third all-new Silverado model from Chevrolet in just 18 months. Being the HD model, not only is it a very capable pickup truck of the lineup, but the 2020 model is said to be the most capable and advanced Silverado HD ever. Just another Silverado model to appeal to the variety of Chevrolet customers…or is it?

Set to be built at the Flint Assembly plant in Flint, Michigan, the new Silverado HD will be starting off with a bolder body sculpted for the heavy-duty functionality it gets its name for. Although some may confuse it with the Silverado 1500, aside from the roof, every piece of sheet metal is exclusive to Silverado HD. Built from the ground-up, this assembly plant is going to have a lot of work to meet the standards of Chevrolet and Chevrolet consumers.

Remarkable Innovation In the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer

Chevy Trailblazer Miami Lakes Automall

There are few vehicles that stand out in the crossover SUV segment that can boast as much as the all-new Chevrolet Blazer. The all-new Blazer will carry many amazing features that warrant explanation. Let us share the info and together embrace all the changes Chevrolet has helped the Blazer undergo to present the best crossover experience on the market today. A new style inside the interior with many attractive features are at the heart of the new Blazer. With an attractive exterior, strong powertrain, the choice is up to drivers to decide whether or not the all-new 2019 Chevrolet Blazer is right for them.

Rugged, Yet Sleek

The all-new Chevrolet Blazer is powered by two engines – the standard being a ECOTEC 2.5-Liter four-cylinder engine that nets 193 horsepower, or the available trusted and true 3.6-Liter Pentastar V6 engine that hits 305 horsepower. Both powertrains gain a nine-speed automatic transmission and run with all-wheel-drive. Capable of providing power and strength, the maximum towing capacity is 4,500 pounds for the 3.6-Liter Pentastar equipped Blazer.

Sharp Design Inside and Out

The 2019 Chevy Blazer was designed by Chevrolet to look sharper with a wider grille than previously held thanks to the success of the Camaro design. The design also called for larger lower intakes, narrow headlights, and a change in the language used to describe each trim. The trims are more common and will help with growth in brand recognition. The first trim is the L trim, followed by the Base trim, the RS trim and lastly the Premier trim. The L begins at $28,800 MSRP (plus destination fee).

Traction Mode Selection
Owners will enjoy the all-wheel-drive system that provides access to flip between the 2WD, 4WD, Sport, Off-road and Towing options depending on the requirements needed for any given moment. The driving and traction conditions for owners is something that changes, so why not have a vehicle that can adjust? That’s not only sensible, but it is also important. The 2019 Blazer can also completely disengage the rear end to drive only the front wheels (2WD) for better gas mileage. Not a bad feature, if we do say so.

Cargo Management System + New Perks

With a modern look and lots of cargo space, owners will always need more space at certain times. That’s where the 2019 Blazer has drivers covered. There’s up to 64.2 cubic feet with the second-row seating lowered and folded down. An electronic-locking glove box is a nice feature when users want to switch their Blazer to Valet Mode on the Chevrolet Infotainment 3 menu and use a four-digit code to make the glove box secure. Find out all the remarkable innovation awaiting in the All-New Blazer when it hits stores in early 2019 and discover so much more when you shop at Miami Lakes Automall.
