Chevy is looking to help drivers get into the Chevrolet City Express small van before they’re all gone. A partnership with Nissan helped create this unique and powerful small van, but Chevrolet has decided that the 2018 Chevy City Express will be the van’s final model year. Chevrolet took a look at Nissan’s NV200 and transformed it into the current Chevy City Express, a vehicle that sold over 29,500 units since debuting in 2014. Designed for a variety on consumer bases, from small businesses to larger scale operations, Chevrolet can provide fleets of this small, fuel-efficient, cargo-carrying vehicle. The remaining Chevy City Express lineup will come in two trims: LS and LT.
Breaking Down Each City Express Trim
Both Chevy City Express trims are provided with a 2.0-Liter DOHC inline-four engine that can produce 131 horsepower and 139 lb-ft of torque. The LS trim also provides a four-wheel anti-lock brake system, Continuously Variable Transmission, and rides on 15-inch steel wheels with 185/60R15 tires. Drivers get a strong engine for hauling cargo in a smooth ride. The interior contains gray cloth upholstery with vinyl bolster-wear patches. The LS trim provides Cruise control, Bluetooth phone and audio connectivity and rear parking sensors as available options.
Getting into the LT trim, owners will gain a center console with additional storage space for as much as a laptop or more. Throughout the van, there are 20 integrated interior reinforced cargo mounting points, six exterior roof rack mounting points, 40/60 split rear cargo doors (180-degree max opening). Owners will have the space they need for the business in the City Express. Power heated outside mirrors and door locks with auto locking feature with electronic stability control is an available option for the LS, but standard for the LT.
The LT trim is up to date with a bunch of modern features that owners will love. Getting into the Chevy City Express is easy with remote keyless entry, and cruise control with steering wheel mounted controls make long distance travel a breeze. Additional standard options include a full–size spare tire, two different wheels with three different appearances and spotter side mirrors for wider angle vision, technology package with navigation radio, Bluetooth rear view camera, USB input and XM Radio.
Plenty of Space to Haul Items
Ready to haul nearly anything? There’s space that allows for hauling the cargo needed for each trip. The Chevrolet City Express van offers a total of 123 cubic-feet of space and high functionality for commercial customers, including D-Rings that can hold any kind of cargo down. Standard dual sliding doors allow for easy access to items from either side of the vehicle. A large floor cover is provided to protect the entire cargo area. The strong fuel efficiency rating is listed at 24 city and 26 highway mpg.
All and all, there’s remarkable space and storage options and all the amenities and safety that any owner could ask for out of a small van. This is a vehicle designed with utility in mind, but drivers can also feel protected with a five-year powertrain warranty and two years of free maintenance. There’s only so many left for customers currently as the vehicle is no longer going to be in production. Now is the time to drive one before it’s too late!
