Chevy Traverse and Dodge Durango SRT Are Top Great SUV Options

Miami-Lakes-Chevy-Traverse-Miami-Chevrolet

Large SUVs are extremely versatile, and that’s what makes them one of the best types of vehicles on the market. They provide plenty of room for people and cargo, they are easy to drive and they have the power to tow. As a dealership that sells seven brands, Miami Lakes Automall has a number of SUVs available, and two of them, the Chevy Traverse and the Dodge Durango SRT, were included in Autoblog’s article, Best Large SUVs We’ve Driven This Year.

2018 Chevy Traverse

After a brief pause in production, the Chevy Traverse returned with a completely redesigned look for the 2018 model year and it’s new features and look are impressive.

Size is one of the SUV’s best attributes. The new Chevy Traverse has three rows of seats and depending on the second-row seat configuration (bench seat or captain’s chairs) there is seating for seven or eight people. Designed to keep all passengers comfortable, the Traverse was designed to offer best-in-class legroom for third-row passengers and passenger volume and with the Traverse’s best-in-class maximum cargo space of 98.2 cubic feet, there’s plenty of room to keep clutter out of the passenger area. Also, so passengers don’t get too cold or too hot in the backseat, the Traverse has three-zone climate control so everyone can enjoy the temperature that is right for them.

The Chevy Traverse is available in six different trims and each trim is available with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The Traverse has a great selection of standard features including some of the most modern amenities. Equipped with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen, the Traverse has OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot on all models as well as MyLink, Chevy’s infotainment system, which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The Chevy Traverse High Country is the most luxurious trim. The Traverse High Country  features heated and ventilated front and second-row leather seats and as well as wireless device charging. To make things easier for people on the-go, the Traverse High Country has power-folding third-row seats and a hands-free power liftgate.

2018 Dodge Durango SRT

2018 is the first model year the Durango SRT has been available and it was designed for drivers that want a vehicle that has seating for seven passengers, the ability to tow and a lot of power.

The Dodge Durango SRT is equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The powerful engine gives the Durango SRT a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds and makes it the fastest three-row SUV in its class. The Durango SRT comes standard with all-wheel-drive and it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and finish a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds.

Designed by Dodge and SRT, the Durango SRT has a number of exterior and interior features that make it look and feel like one of Dodge’s muscle cars. The Durango SRT has a functional SRT hood, four-inch dual exhausts, and a new front fascia and lower valence. The interior is fitted with Nappa leather, a large 8.4-inch Dodge-Durango-SRT-Miami-Lakes-Dodgetouchscreen and a nine-speaker BeatsAudio system that is powerful enough to drown out the roar of the 475-horsepower engine. Like the Chevy Traverse, the Dodge Durango SRT also has a power liftgate and heated and ventilated front and second-row seats.

Chevy Silverado and Chevy Colorado Snag Two New Awards

2018 Silverado 2500 HD Deep Ocean Blue Metallic LTZ Z71 Crew Cab

Just because Chevrolet has one of the largest model lineups on the market offering everything from trucks to sedans to sportscars, doesn’t mean Chevy doesn’t spend time to make sure each of their products is top-of-the-line. Every model Chevy produces is meant to be one of the best models in its class, and that’s always apparent with Chevy trucks.

Just recently, two Chevy trucks earned awards. The 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 was named Four Wheeler’s 2018 Pickup Truck of the Year, which is the first time the truck has earned the award. Additionally, Kelly Blue Book recognized four Chevy models for their excellent resale value. The 2018 Chevy Silverado and 2018 Chevy Tahoe were both given the title as Best Resale Value in their class and KBB.com ranked the 2018 Chevy Colorado and the 2018 Chevy Silverado in the Top 10 for Best Resale Value.

Chevy Trucks

Chevy is currently celebrating its 100th year in the truck industry. Chevy’s truck legacy began in 1918 with the 1918 One-Ton and 100 years later, the Chevy truck lineup includes the light-duty Chevy Silverado 1500, the heavy-duty Silverado 2500 and 3500 and the mid-size truck, the Chevy Colorado.

Chevy Colorado

While the Silverado trucks have been around for decades, the Colorado is the newest to join the lineup. The Chevy Colorado was introduced in 2002 and production was halted after the 2012 model year, and then the Colorado returned to production lines in 2014. Ever since the Colorado’s return it has been earning awards and experiencing great sales. The Colorado is a versatile truck that offers consumers a fuel efficient, five-passenger pickup truck option that has enough towing power to take care of a variety of hauling tasks.

The Chevy Colorado is currently available in four trims, the Colorado WT, Colorado LT, Colorado ZR2 and the Colorado Z71, and there are three engine options. The 2018 Colorado ZR2 (the trim named Four Wheeler’s 2018 Pickup Truck of the Year) is celebrating its first year of production. The Colorado ZR2 trim is designed to be an off-road truck and it has all of the equipment to handle any type of terrain.

The Colorado ZR2 is available with two different engines, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 2.8-liter turbo-diesel engine. To give the Colorado ZR2 better off-road capabilities of other mid-size pickup trucks on the market, the Colorado ZR2 has a ground clearance of 8.9 inches, which is two inches more than the ground clearance on other Chevy Colorado trucks. To protect important truck equipment from rocks, water and other types of debri that might damage the truck when off-roading, the Colorado ZR2 is equipped with front and rear locking differentials, as well as protective rock sliders and enhanced bumpers.

Chevy Silverado

The Chevy Silverado 1500 has consistently been one of the top three light-duty pickup trucks in its class. The Silverado 1500 is available in three cab options and in six different trims, the Silverado 1500 WT, Silverado 1500 LS, Silverado 1500 CS, Silverado 1500 Custom, Silverado 1500 LT, Silverado 1500 LTZ and the Silverado 1500 High Country. When the Silverado 1500 is equipped with the NHT max trailering package, it offers best in class max towing of 12,500 pounds.

One major reason consumers like the Silverado 1500 so much is because it is more than just a strong truck. The Silverado 1500 includes safety, tech, entertainment and convenience features that aren’t typically priorities by other truck manufacturers. The Silverado comes standard with a rearview camera, six airbags, the Teen Driver feature, and aero active shutters.

Chevy Releasing Medium-Duty Class 4 and Class 5 Truck Options

Chevrolet Will Reveal Its All-new Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD at

Chevy announced they will be launching the all-new medium-duty Silverado Class 4 and Class 5 trucks at The Work Truck Show 2018 in Indianapolis from March 4-6. The new truck will replace the Kodiak, which was a medium-duty truck manufactured by Chevy and GM in the past.

To make it easy for businesses to get what they need, the new commercial-duty trucks will be available with a few different configuration options. Buyers will have options of a regular or crew cab, a 2WD or 4WD drivetrain, and various wheelbase lengths.

The new medium-duty Silverado 4500 and 5500 trucks will be available with a Duramax diesel engine and an Allison transmission, but engine specifics won’t be revealed until the trucks debut at the show. Chevy currently offers a Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo Diesel V8 engine on the Silverado 2500 and 3500 models, so that engine could be a possible option on the new medium-duty models. The available Duramax 6.6-liter Turbo Diesel V8 engine produces 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque, and provides a maximum towing capacity of 23,000 pounds.

That’s all the information we know for now, but we’ll definitely be providing updates as we get them. Chevy has stated that the trucks are expected to go into production in late 2018. In the meantime, Miami Lakes Automall has heavy-duty Chevy Silverado 2500 and 3500 models available today.

Chevy COPO Camaro Legacy and the COPO Camaro in 2018

Miami-Lakes-Chevy-2017-Chevrolet_COPO_001

Available with 650-horsepower, the Chevy Camaro is a fierce muscle car, and Chevy has taken that fierceness up a notch with the new addition of the 2018 COPO Camaro.

About COPO Camaro

The COPO Camaro was originally introduced in 1969 and it was designed as a drag car to compete in NHRA races. The name COPO comes from Central Office Production Orders, which was a vehicle-ordering system that was only available to fleet buyers, like law enforcement departments or taxi companies. Unlike regular consumers, fleet buyers could purchase a group of cars and have them configured with certain options and some options, like special drivetrain combinations, were not available for regular production models.

According to HotRod.com, Chevrolet dealership owner and drag racer, Fred Gibb, “was tired of seeing Cobra Jet Mustangs and Hemi Darts beating up on Camaros, so he worked with insiders at Chevrolet Performance using this ordering process to create the COPO 9560-a ’69 Camaro.”

The special new COPO Camaro build included several new parts, including an aluminum ZL1 427 engine, a heavy-duty cooling system, transistor ignition, a stronger rear axle and front disc brakes. Production of the special ZL1 Camaros was limited to 69 models, and that’s the reason production of the new COPO Camaros has been limited to 69 models since they were reintroduced for the 2012 model year.

2018 COPO Camaro

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels, Chevy unveiled the 2018 COPO Camaro alongside the 2018 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels 50th Anniversary Edition at Hot Wheels headquarters in California. The 2018 COPO Camaro is available in an exclusive exterior color called Supercrush, and there’s also a Hot Wheels Appearance package, too.

The 2018 COPO Camaro is available with three different engines, a 302 racing engine, a 427 engine or a supercharged 350 racing engine. All COPO Camaro models are built for NHRA’s Stock Eliminator classes and they are all equipped with a racing chassis and suspension components. The supercharged 350 engine allows the COPO Camaro to complete a quarter-mile in the mid-eight second range.

Want a legendary 2018 COPO Camaro for yourself? Those interested in purchasing a COPO Camaro have to register for a chance to win one of the 69 models. Registrations can be completed at chevrolet.com/performance/copo-registration and winners will be selected at random.

Aside from the exclusive and limited supply of the COPO Camaro models, Miami Lakes Automall has all of the other available 2017 and 2018 Chevy Camaro models, including the new 2018 Chevy Camaro ZL1.
