Large SUVs are extremely versatile, and that’s what makes them one of the best types of vehicles on the market. They provide plenty of room for people and cargo, they are easy to drive and they have the power to tow. As a dealership that sells seven brands, Miami Lakes Automall has a number of SUVs available, and two of them, the Chevy Traverse and the Dodge Durango SRT, were included in Autoblog’s article, Best Large SUVs We’ve Driven This Year.
2018 Chevy Traverse
After a brief pause in production, the Chevy Traverse returned with a completely redesigned look for the 2018 model year and it’s new features and look are impressive.
Size is one of the SUV’s best attributes. The new Chevy Traverse has three rows of seats and depending on the second-row seat configuration (bench seat or captain’s chairs) there is seating for seven or eight people. Designed to keep all passengers comfortable, the Traverse was designed to offer best-in-class legroom for third-row passengers and passenger volume and with the Traverse’s best-in-class maximum cargo space of 98.2 cubic feet, there’s plenty of room to keep clutter out of the passenger area. Also, so passengers don’t get too cold or too hot in the backseat, the Traverse has three-zone climate control so everyone can enjoy the temperature that is right for them.
The Chevy Traverse is available in six different trims and each trim is available with front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The Traverse has a great selection of standard features including some of the most modern amenities. Equipped with a 7- or 8-inch touchscreen, the Traverse has OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot on all models as well as MyLink, Chevy’s infotainment system, which has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
The Chevy Traverse High Country is the most luxurious trim. The Traverse High Country features heated and ventilated front and second-row leather seats and as well as wireless device charging. To make things easier for people on the-go, the Traverse High Country has power-folding third-row seats and a hands-free power liftgate.
2018 Dodge Durango SRT
2018 is the first model year the Durango SRT has been available and it was designed for drivers that want a vehicle that has seating for seven passengers, the ability to tow and a lot of power.
The Dodge Durango SRT is equipped with a 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine that produces 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. The powerful engine gives the Durango SRT a best-in-class maximum towing capacity of 8,700 pounds and makes it the fastest three-row SUV in its class. The Durango SRT comes standard with all-wheel-drive and it can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 4.4 seconds and finish a quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds.
Designed by Dodge and SRT, the Durango SRT has a number of exterior and interior features that make it look and feel like one of Dodge’s muscle cars. The Durango SRT has a functional SRT hood, four-inch dual exhausts, and a new front fascia and lower valence. The interior is fitted with Nappa leather, a large 8.4-inch touchscreen and a nine-speaker BeatsAudio system that is powerful enough to drown out the roar of the 475-horsepower engine. Like the Chevy Traverse, the Dodge Durango SRT also has a power liftgate and heated and ventilated front and second-row seats.
