The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee kicks off the fifth generation of the Grand Cherokee with refinement plus an all-new trim. When many enthusiasts think of America’s favorite automaker, they immediately think of the Jeep Wrangler. However, the Grand Cherokee has always played a vital role in the automaker's success. The secret ingredient to the Grand Cherokee’s success is its impeccable off-road handling paired with equally impressive on-road elegance. Though the outside tackles anything rugged, the Grand Cherokee’s insides offer many luxury appointments and features. New for the 2022 model year is the Grand Cherokee’s three powertrain options. Enthusiasts are already familiar with the Grand Cherokee’s V6 and V8 options, but the new edition is the new plug-in-hybrid variant for the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe.

The Summit trim is fully equipped with features such as the four-zone climate control, Nappa leather seats with quilted seas, Berber floor mats, 16-way power first-row seats with a massaging function, 20-inch aluminum wheels, and illuminated door sills.

Engine Types

Like its predecessor, the 2021 Grand Cherokee, the 2022 model year attains the 3.6-liter V6 or a 5.7-liter Hemi V8. However, what is new for the 2022 model is some electrification in the plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain. Rear-wheel drive comes standard with the 3.6-liter V6—however, all-wheel-drive premiers standard for Grand Cherokee’s with the 5.7-liter V8 or plug-in-hybrid powertrain.
