Engine Type All trims have the standard 3.6-liter v6 engine with a fantastic 310 horsepower and 266 torque. The engine also has a 9-speed automatic transmission. The fuel economy for all trims is 18/27 mpg (city/highway) for a FWD and 17/25 mpg for an AWD.

Driving and Handling The 2020 Traverse can be quite an enjoyable ride, as the powerful v6 engine and transmission make the SUV more than ideal to drive for the daily commute. It also comes equipped with Traction Mode Select, which allows drivers to adjust the vehicle's performance on challenging road surfaces. Additionally, the 2020 Traverse is just as ideal for passengers as it is for drivers, as there are a wide variety of infotainment as well as safety features such as Apple Car Play and Blind-Spot Monitoring. The interior of the cabin is also quite spacious and provides quality and comfort in all 8 seats.

Exterior Features The 2020 Traverse has a large yet upscale appearance, its unique detail and sculpting is quite exquisite, and becomes more fascinating with each upgrade on various trims. There are a variety of exterior colors to choose from, such as Black Cherry Metallic, Satin Steel Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic, Summit White, Mosaic Black Metallic, Stone Gray Metallic, Midnight Blue Metallic, Graphite Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, and Cajun Red Tintcoat.  Exterior features on the base L trim include 18-inch aluminum wheels, a compact spare tire, capless fuel fill, automatic headlights, and heated side mirrors. The LS trim is quite similar to the L trim, except that it includes dark-tinted rear privacy glass. It’s recommended to upgrade to at least an LT Cloth trim, as the base and LS trim don’t include all exterior colors. Drivers will enjoy more exterior features such as fog lights, automatic hi-beam headlights, rear-camera mirror, chrome door handles, auto-dimming side-mirror glass, hands-free-power rear liftgate, 20-inch polished aluminum wheels, dual-pane glass sunroof, and bright front sill plates. Its also worth noting that the 2020 Traverse has a special Redline Edition that features a blacked-out exterior trim, wheels with red accents, and much more. It comes exclusively on the Premier trim.

Interior Features Jet Black is the standard color for the 2020 Traverse but most trims offer a Dark Galvanized/ dark grey as an alternative or a Medium Ash Grey over Dark Atmosphere/brown. Standard features starting on the base L trim include 8 passenger seats with premium-cloth upholstery, triple-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and a rear-seat reminder system. Features on upgraded trims include 8-way-power driver’s seat with lumbar support (6-way adjustable for front-passengers), second-row captain’s chairs, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote engine starting, 4.2-inch color driver-information display, universal programmable home-remote control, Bose premium sound system, ventilated front seats, memory settings for the driver’s settings, Hitch Guidance with Hitch-View technology, power-folding 3rd-row seats and an enhanced version of automatic emergency braking that works at higher vehicle speeds.

Infotainment and Safety Features Each trim has quite a number of features that are both unique and ideal for drivers and passengers alike. Starting out, the base L trim as a wide range of safety as well as infotainment features.
