Trims and Engine
The 2019 Ram ProMaster City is made up of four trims with two models owning two trims each. These are the Tradesman Cargo Van, Tradesman SLT Cargo Van, the Wagon, and the Wagon SLT. All trims ride on a front-wheel drivetrain and are powered by a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir I4 engine. Able to generate a best-in-class horsepower of 178hp, and generate 174 lb-ft of torque, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City can handle many jobs.
Powering the 2019 Ram ProMaster City, a 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir I4 engine, is actually optimized by a variable valve timing (VVT) system for better performance. Paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission, the two working together offer the ProMaster City a best-in-class highway fuel economy of 28 mpg. Moreover, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City has a best-in-class payload of 1883 pounds and has a maximum towing capacity of 2000 pounds.
The Ram ProMaster City hasn’t changed much over the years in looks. Cargo vans aren’t made for style anyways. Standard features on either model include drivers and passengers side-door and rear doors without glass, a 180-degree opening rear hinged door, remote keyless entry, and security panels for the sliding doors and rear doors. Doors and windows may come with vented glass or deep tint sunscreen glass as an upgrade, and select trims come with power heated exterior mirrors.
There is a lot of cargo room inside the van, but if looking for more, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City comes with optional adjustable roof rack crossbars, roof rack side rails, and a three bar utility roof rack. All trims ride on 16-inch wheels, steel or aluminum. Depending on the business, some consumers may want to look into giving their van some personal style, picking from one of the following colors: Blue Nite Metallic, Deep Red, Black metallic, Bright White, Silver Metallic, Earth Brown, and Quartz Grey Metallic.
Depending on the model selected, the 2019 Ram ProMaster City seating capacity and cargo space changes. The Ram ProMaster City cargo van has seating for two people and a large maximum cargo capacity of 131.7 cubic feet, whereas the Ram ProMaster City wagon van has seating for five passengers and a maximum cargo capacity of 101.7 cubic feet. Regardless, both come with a 60/40 fold and tumble rear seat, cloth upholstery, a cargo compartment, and a rearview day/night mirror.
If looking for a little more comfort or convenience, consumers will find additional options on select trims. These options include front all-weather floor mats, a GPS antenna input for navigation, LED cargo area lighting, and two cargo packages that can make storage and organization easier. If really looking for customization, then one may wish to look into Ram cargo van upfits.
Entertainment in the 2019 Ram ProMaster City is pretty standard: a four-speaker sound system with a 5-inch touchscreen display that comes with integrated voice command via Bluetooth and is powered by Uconnect 3. GPS Navigation, steering wheel audio controls, SiriusXM and Uconnect 3 with navigation are all optional upgrades available to consumers. An upfit can add a little more in terms of entertainment.
