Under the hood of the Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid s the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine that’s accompanied by a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery that powers an electric motor. Either power source is enough to get the minivan moving, but as a hybrid, both the gas engine and the electric motor can work together for the best fuel efficiency. Regenerative braking is the main way to recharge the onboard battery while the minivan is in use. Recharging occurs by redirecting the energy expended when braking to a generator, offering an 84 MPGe (miles-per-gallon equivalent) for a hybrid vehicle. The 2019 Pacifica Hybrid offers an impressive all-electric range of 33 miles - all without releasing a single emission. In total, the Pacifica Hybrid offers a combined driving range of 566 miles.
Chrysler offers three different charging/recharging methods for the lithium-ion battery to restore full capacity. There’s a standard 120-volt outlet, the very same one in which any consumer can plug an appliance into. Buyers can opt for the available 240-volt Level II charger installation at home and can enjoy a full charge in as little as two hours. An 80 percent charge is usually reached in as little as a half hour. Owners can also enjoy public charging stations found in plazas reserved for plug-in hybrid vehicles while on the go. Apps such as PlugShare are available to help drivers find nearby charging stations in no time.
Standard features on the 2019 Pacifica Hybrid include automatic on/off headlamps, premium fog lamps, LED taillamps, daytime running headlamps, a laminated front door glass to minimize interior noise levels and outside interference, heated exterior mirrors, and power sliding doors on the driver and passenger side with fixed glass. Available upgrades include a power liftgate, a chrome Stow ‘n Place roof rack and rear and front splash guards. 17-inch polished aluminum wheels (optional on the Touring L) come standard on the 2019 Pacifica Hybrid, but buyers can choose to upgrade to 18-inch polished aluminum or black-noise painted wheels instead.
