Standard on the 2019 Impala is a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 197 horsepower and 191 pound-feet of torque. An upgrade is available to a 3.6-liter V6 engine that has a 264 pound-feet of torque and makes 305 horsepower. The optional V6 engine delivers stronger power in the highway for passing and merging. The Impala earns an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the road, which is the average for its class. The V6, which is an optional engine, gets 19 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.  

 

Handling and Braking

The Impala’s handling has easy mobility and it’s light on the steering wheel making it easier to drive. Even when driving over rough pavements, the ride is soft and comfortable and the cabin stays quiet when it’s going at high speeds.

There aren’t a lot of changes to the 2019 Impala model. There is the deletion of Graphite Metallic exterior color. There are ten in total. The colors available are blue velvet metallic, iridescent pearl tri-coat, nightfall gray metallic, silver ice metallic, summit white, mosaic black metallic, black, pepper dust metallic and Cajun red Tintcoat.

 

Interior Features

The Impala has ample space which seats five people. The driver can enjoy the view of the road ahead, and the front seats deliver adequate comfort for longer drives. Standards are the cloth upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Upgrade to leather seats, power-adjustable passenger seat and heated or ventilated front seats. The interior cabin design is modern and sleek, and it has an intuitive dash layout.

 

The Impala has 18.8 cubic feet of trunk space which rivals every class available. In comparison to the 2018 Buick Lacrosse, which has 15 cubic feet, while the 2019 Toyota Avalon has around 16. No problem in having to load large suitcases and be able to go on many shopping sprees with all the space available. The Impala’s second-row folds down in a 60/40 configuration, and that allows you to haul large items. The trunk is vast and wide enough which increases the car’s utility.

The Impala’s standard features are highlights include proximity key entry, push-button start, and the MyLink infotainment system that comes with an 8-inch touch screen, three USB ports, a Wi-Fi hot spot, and satellite radio. The interface is quick to register the driver’s touch to process commands, and it’s easy to use. Take advantage of the standard Android and Apple CarPlay systems that connect a smartphone to MyLink. The Impala has a lot of physical buttons that also easily adjust the volume and climate or scroll through radio stations.

 

If you move upwards in trims, it gets you additional options like remote start, a dual-pane sunroof, 11-speaker Bose surround-sound system, a 120-volt power outlet, dual-zone automatic climate control, and navigation. The myChevrolet Mobile app allows you to stay connected to the vehicle from virtually anywhere. Having it adequately equipped you'll get the start/stop your engine and lock/unlock your doors, it can set parking reminders, send destinations to your available navigation system and view diagnostic information.  

 

Safety Features and Warranty

The only safety feature that comes standard on the 2019 Impala is the rearview camera. As an option, there are rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning. These are available in packages of two higher trims.  

 

Chevrolet is with its customers every step of the way. That’s a promise that comes with Chevrolet Complete Care, which provides excellent service and support, the second you purchase a vehicle. Included maintenance during the drivers first 12 months is covered oil and oil filter change, DEF tank (Diesel Exhaust Fluids) refills for diesel-equipped models, and included are tire rotations according to the vehicle’s maintenance schedule.

 

The Impala comes with bumper-to-bumper protection for 3 years or 36,000 miles, whatever comes first, and any vehicle imperfections are covered. Included are also the original tires in the vehicle, and they are prorated after 12,000 miles. The powertrain consists of the engine, drive systems, transmission/transaxle, transfer case, and emission control systems and has coverage which extends to 5 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first.

 

GM vehicles are designed to withstand corrosion. As for the body and sheet metal components, they are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years or 100,000 miles. It comes with a response, security, and convenience of 24-hour Roadside Assistance and it has 'Courtesy Transportation' for 5 years or 60,000 miles. On the safety and security plan comes with the automatic crash response, stolen vehicle assistance, emergency services, crisis assist, roadside assistance, and turn-by-turn navigation.
