For the 2018 model year, Mitsubishi Motors engineers re-designed the front and rear bumpers while adding new LED running lights. The infotainment system also receives an upgrade to a 7-inch Smartphone Link display that includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto - both are a step up from the 6.1-inch and 6.5-inch display screens that were available in the 2017 model year. Additional upgrades include a newly designed floor console, silver alloy paint job and a new shift lever. According to J.D. Power, the Mitsubishi Outlander Sport’s rear bumper area now includes a skid plate and rear reflectors for off-road appeal.

The Outlander Sport SEL includes a MacPherson strut with stabilizer bar to the front suspension and a Multi-link with stabilizer bar for the rear plus electric power steering.
