For the 2018 model year, the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 is available in four different trim levels - Work Truck (WT), LT, LTZ, and High Country. All models share a 6.0-liter V8 SFI engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. The V8 engine produces 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. Additional standard engine features include an automatic locking rear differential, external transmission oil cooler, and an external engine oil cooler. Optional for all trims is a 6.6-liter turbo-diesel V8 engine that is paired to a more powerful Allison 1000 six-speed automatic transmission. Once the Silverado 3500HD is equipped with the Allison 1000 transmission, it has an output of 445 horsepower and 910 lb-ft of torque.
Configurations
The 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is offered in regular-cab, double-cab, and crew-cab body styles with a choice between rear- or four-wheel drive. Each cab style is available with either single rear-wheel (SRW) or dual rear-wheel (DRW) configurations. The regular and double cabs are only available with an 8.2-foot long bed, and SRW crew-cab models offer a long bed or a shorter 6.5-foot standard bed.
