The Chevrolet Trax is a crossover utility vehicle, also known as a CUV, that has been engineered to give the feel and space of an SUV, with the sleek look and features of a compact car. The all-new 2017 Chevrolet Trax is only the second Trax model year and Chevy has already given it a makeover. Chevy has made changes to the vehicle’s exterior, interior and safety options.

Engine and Trims
There is one engine and three trims for the 2017 Trax. The trims for the 2017 Trax are LS, LT and Premium. The three available trims on the 2016 model year Trax are LS, LT and LTZ.
The standard engine of all three trims for 2017 and 2016 models is the same 1.4-liter turbocharged ECOTEC engine. This engine gets 138 horsepower and 148 lb-ft of torque, and receives an average fuel economy of 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg when on the highway.
Stylish Sporty Exterior
The all-new Chevy Trax model has a new and upgraded exterior look. The vehicle’s back end, grille, and headlights have all been changed. Keeping up with modern and popular design trends, the new 2017 Trax model has skinnier headlights and they slightly wrap around both sides of the car. The size and shape of the front grille and bumper has been altered and the vehicle’s back end now features a more athletic rear design that makes it look a little more like other SUVs on the market.
Both the 2016 and 2017 Chevy Trax come standard with a 7-inch MyLink touchscreen display, however the 2017 model’s touchscreen has be updated. Both the 2016 and 2017 Chevy Trax models also have available built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi featuring a connection more powerful than your smartphone. However, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be two available technology features that were not an option on the the 2016 Trax.
Chevy hasn’t released too much information regarding the interior features on the 2017 model, except that the all-new model will be designed with premium quality materials.
Safety and Warranty
The Trax LS (base model) comes pre-loaded with great safety features. Both the 2016 and 2017 Trax models have a standard rearview camera, which is a great modern safety tech feature. Some other standard safety features include: 10 airbags, including driver and passenger knee airbags, and electronic stability control with rollover detection. Extra safety options such as lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and forward collision warning are available on all trims.
Warranties for both Trax model years include a 3-year or 36,000 mile basic warranty and a 5-year or 60,000 powertrain warranty. Additionally Chevy offers buyers two scheduled maintenance appointments for 2 years or 24,000 miles and roadside assistance for 5 years or 60,000 miles.
