We’ve just begun the new year for 2021, the middle of February, but that’s not stopping the leading Japanese automaker from releasing a brand-new model for the 2022 model year. That’s right – we’re talking about Mitsubishi Motors, introducing the all-new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander with a special virtual reveal. For the first time ever, a vehicle made its global debut on Amazon Live. Entering a new generation for the SUV, Mitsubishi is bringing a whole new look to the Outlander with new style fit for the next generation. Check out all the highlights below.
Power and Engineering
Making up the underpinnings of this SUV is a new combination of a newly developed platform to drive on. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is under the hood, the Mitsubishi’s rally-derived Super All-Wheel Control is available if not standard to keep everything under control for drivers in all environments. Able to take on off-road rallies, it should be able to, and with available large-diameter 20-inch wheels, unsavory roads won’t shake up the Outlander SUV. With bolder proportions and a strong stance, this is the new SUV to look for in 2021.
Style Inside and Out
A new general model needs a new look, and to start off the things right, the front fascia comes with the automaker’s next generation Dynamic Shield front face and design language. Coupled with muscular fenders, those available 20-inch wheels will only add to the looks of the new Outlander SUV. Strong, yet serene, the interior cabin is just as nice, with semi-aniline leather seating available and all new features.
The only SUV in the segment to come standard with a third-row, able to sear up to seven passengers, and tailored with class-above materials, the all-new 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander also comes available with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 9-inch center screen making up the dashboard and center console. With a newly developed drive mode selector, drivers can pick from six distinct settings for varying performance on and off road. Technology is also a whole new ball game.
Seriously, Mitsubishi went all-out this time. Within the cabin, consumers will find some incredible features available, such as a windshield-display 10.8-inch full-color Head-Up Display (HUD) and Mitsubishi’s industry-leading Mitsubishi Connect smart-car system. For listening to tunes, a 10-speaker BOSE® audio system is available, and with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay a standard these days, Mitsubishi Motors joined the modern age with newly available wireless smartphone charging capability for both apps.
Safety has also been upgraded. The 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander SUV offers Mitsubishi’s MI-PILOT Assist driver assistance system with adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist, and integrated navigation using what3words technology for finding your way around town. It really is an all-new Outlander for 2022.
“Based on the product concept ‘I-Fu-Do-Do,’ which means authentic and majestic in Japanese, the all-new OUTLANDER has been crafted into a reliable SUV with significantly upgraded styling, road performance, and a high-quality feel to satisfy the needs of customers who want to expand their horizons and take on challenges of every kind…With the launch of the all-new OUTLANDER, we will first expand our sales in the North American market and then aim for global growth.” – said Takao Kato, chief executive officer of MMC
