Kia Motors is one auto brand that has been really blowing up lately. Whether it’s their newest hybrid and electric vehicles like the Kia Soul EV or the Kia Niro EV or the largest SUV in the lineup, the 2020 Kia Telluride, there’s been a lot of news surrounding Kia. 2019 has been a great year and with so many organizations and publications hosting award shows and putting together their best lists, we were happy to see how many Kia vehicles popped up, especially when it came to J.D. Power.
J.D. Power & Associates is a powerful name in the automotive industry, conducting many studies that cover many categories and features of vehicles every year. The Kia Soul ranked as the highest Compact Car by J.D. Power during the Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study that covers audio, communication, entertainment and navigation (ACEN) technologies, the Kia Forte was named highest ranking in 2019 J.D. Power APEAL Study that measures an owner or lessees’ emotional attachment and level of excitement in relation to their vehicle, and the 2018 Kia Stinger received J.D. Power’s first-ever “Engineering Award for the Highest Rated All-New Vehicle” award.
It should be pretty obvious there isn’t just one Kia vehicle that’s the best. With so much variety, there are many wonderful vehicles. U.S. News & World Report finished their “2019 Best Cars for the Money” list and named the 2019 Kia Sorento, 2019 Kia Stinger, 2019 Kia Forte, and the 2019 Kia Rio. The Kia Forte and Kia Soul were also named on U.S. News Cars for Teen Lists. When it came to vehicle satisfaction, Kia again with the Kia Forte and Cadenza named by AutoPacific as VSA Segment Winners, ranking how satisfied an owner is with their new vehicle before and after purchase.
The largest SUV in the lineup, the 2020 Kia Telluride got the most love this year and recently. Naming off some of the big ones, the 2020 Kia Telluride was named on Car and Driver 10Best Trucks and SUVs list, won awards at NWAPA Mudfest for on and off-road performance, named SUV of the Year by Motor Trend, and “SUV of Texas” when the 2020 Kia Telluride took home several awards during the 2019 TAWA Truck Rodeo. No wonder the Kia Telluride spearheaded Kia sales in March 2019.
Of course, the Kia Motors hybrid and electric vehicles got some love. Named by Good Housekeeping, the 2019 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid was rated as the Best New Car in collaboration with Car and Driver magazine after being tested on more than 5,000 miles on a variety of test tracks, city roads, and highways. The 2019 Kia Niro EV was named Car of the Year by Popular Mechanics, coming to America soon, currently sold overseas. Speaking of, the Kia Niro EV was named Car of the Year in Britain in early 2019.
When it comes to safety and quality, the 2020 Kia Soul recently received a Top Safety Pick+ from IIHS. In fact, most recently, the 2019 Kia Stinger earned a Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS and so did the 2020 Kia Telluride. When it comes to quality, whether new or used, Kia Motors vehicles can be trusted. That’s why Autotrader named Kia Motors on its 10 Best Non-Luxury CPO Programs List for Kia Motors exceptional certified pre-owned vehicle (CPO) program that goes through a 164-point Quality Assurance inspection to ensure that the vehicle meets the conditions and standards before selling it as a CPO.
