Dodge has announced a new vehicle to celebrate the semi-centennial of the Challenger. The 50th Anniversary Edition Challenger will receive a new Commemorative Edition that can be ordered across three 2020 Challenger trims including the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. The rear-wheel-drive V6 GT model can also be added with the 50th Anniversary Edition. Let’s break down all the fun awaiting future owners of this special edition.
Owners Will Have A Lot of Choices
What owners will gain with the commemorative car is quite similar to the 50th Anniversary Edition. Hand-painted Satin Black hood with black-wrapped roof and decklid, the Dodge Hellcat air intake and headlights, Satin Black fuel filler cap with Gunmetal-colored brake calipers on trim that have the red Brembo brakes. Gold School-colored wheels, lots of badging that carry “50” logos that are illuminated. Drivers will find the interior gains sepia stitching, heated and cooled performance seating and additional sepia thread on the Alcantara door bolsters that carry white gages with detailed yellow accents, berber floor mats, real carbon fiber trim pieces, and a bunch more badging.
How Much Does the Commemorative Challenger Cost?
This special edition comes with real carbon fiber trim pieces with a look that would impress any fans of the 1970 Challenger, which can be found in the gauge cluster animation awaiting drivers. Dodge claims this commemorative vehicle will be available in the fall. The price point is expected to add $4,995 for this optional package of a 2020 Dodge Challenger R/T, $5,495 to the price of the R/T Scat Pack, and $5,495 to the cost of the R/T Scat Pack Widebody. There are plenty of choices for customers to decide their options.
Tons of Colors To Choose From
Keep in mind, the 50th Anniversary Challenger muscle car is ready in optional body color choices including F8 Green, Frostbite, Go Mango, Hellraisin, Sinamon Stick, TorRed, or the all-new Gold Rush. The difference for the Commemorative Edition is the color palette includes Granite, Indigo Blue, Octane Red, Pitch Black, Triple Nickel, White Knuckle, and the new Smoke Show hue. That latter color replaces Destroyer Gray, and can be ordered on the Charger as well.
“I consider these cars to have a soul and they are timeless. We continue to refine these cars and offer new packages and engine upgrades, things that really resonate with our customers. That’s what led us,” Mark Trostle FCA Designer.
